Paatru are a breed of Argonian that live in the inner parts of Black Marsh, close to the Hist.[1] Most Argonians share a basic morphological pattern but differences between different kinds of Argonians can range from minimal to significant.[2] Paatru have some distinct differences in their appearance compared to the Argonian most commonly seen throughout Tamriel, as they are described to be toadlike. They and several of the other Middle Argonia tribes are reputed to kill outsiders.[1]

- Two toad-like Argonians, Peel and Footsteps-Pad, were introduced into The Blue Dawn role-playing campaign by Ted Peterson. As this RP was also the debut of the Naga Argonians, it is likely these were two were meant to be (or inspired) the Paatru. In the RP, Ted Peterson describes Peel as having a long tongue and often hopping around, and states he never left Black Marsh before. The other, Footsteps-Pad, is described as six feet tall and muscular.[UOL 1]
