Captain Cynoric is a High Elf who was the leader of the Ceythalmor cell operating out of the Smuggler's Tunnels in Grahtwood. He is later encountered in person in Crimson Cove.

Quest-Related EventsEdit
After finding a letter in Snapdragon's ransacked cottage, you go to the mentioned meeting place in Grahtwood. However, when you arrive at the Bone Tree, the place has been attacked and find the dying Snapdragon nearby. She explains that Hyacinth is the Ceythalmor traitor, and that they were supposed to take her to some smuggler tunnels beneath Southpoint before she escaped.
When you and Tanlorin search the tunnels for Hyacinth, you are told by the injured Agent Firinn to check the Captain's Quarters. In the makeshift torture chamber, you find a Etched Metal Disk and the Ceythalmor Captain's Journal. Tanlorin will recognize the disk as an invention of Hyacinth's that records memories, and by throwing it in a fire, you can force them to play.
When you throw the Etched Metal Disk into the nearby brazier, a scene between Hyacinth and Captain Cynoric will play out:
- Captain Cynoric: "Didn't you hear me? I said, try anything clever again and I'll gut you where you stand."
- Hyacinth: "Technically I am never not doing something clever. Where are you taking me?"
- Captain Cynoric: "Our insider finally wants to properly introduce themselves. We're headed to Crimson Cove, tinkerer."
- <The memory stops playing.>

You can then go to the Crimson Cove where you find the Ceythalmor Base behind a hidden passage. Once inside, you will Hyacinth trapped in a magical torture device as the traitor talks to him. Captain Cynoric and some fellow agents will be watching the show:
- Wisteria: "Hyacinth, it doesn't have to be like this. Give me what I need and all this pain will stop."
- <Tanlorin runs up to the platform and points at Wisteria.>
- Tanlorin: "Wisteria! Stop!"
- Wisteria: "Tanlorin? How? I … Agents, go! I need some more time."
- Captain Cynoric: "You heard the boss! Let's squash this flower."
- <Captain Cynoric and two Ceythalmor Agents jump down to fight.>
Skills and abilitiesEdit
Captain Cynoric uses thundermaul class abilities as well as some additional unique abilities:
- Quick Strike
- Basic melee ability that deals physical damage.
- Agonizing Strike
- The captain calls a lightning strike to smite you, dealing major shock damage.
- Agonizing Fury
- When Agonizing Strike lands, it creates an lightning bolt on the ground where small areas emerge from and travel in various directions, dealing continuous shock damage and snaring targets standing inside.
- Thunder Hammer
- The captain slams his sword down onto the ground in a cone-shaped area in front of him, dealing major shock damage.
- Shock Aura
- Captain Cynoric shocks the ground around itself as indicated by a red circle. This attack does moderate shock damage and can be interrupted to set the enemy off balance or simply avoided.
Once the Ceythalmor Sea Mage, Swashbuckler and Captain Cynoric are killed, Wisteria will escape the base.
