Farrul Lupus is an Imperial who can be found in Renna's House in Riften. He was the former steward of Emperor Leovic, practically raising him and thus was aware of his secrets. Previously he contracted Eveli Sharp-Arrow to pick up a particular book from Black Drake Villa. During the related quest, you will need to accompany Eveli to hand the book over to his wife Renna and find out what Farrul really wants.

After talking with Renna, she will tell you to go to her home where Farrul is hiding in fear for his life. When you give the special knock on the door, you can hear him weakly cry out:
- Farrul Lupus: "Help … help me …."
- Eveli Sharp-Arrow: "That doesn't sound good. Hurry, let's get inside!"
Once inside, you find the house in disarray and Farrul lying against the bed, dead. You can examine the body and find the Dark Brotherhood Note.
