Grubert Aubertin is a Breton mystic of the Mages Guild who runs Crystalline Ephemera out of the guild branch in Gonfalon Bay. He can be found tending to his store just to the left as you come into the guildhall.

Initially speaking to Grubert will have him make a few random comments as way of greeting:
- "I can't abide folk who don't know what they want. Decide. Or decide not to decide. Dithering is inexcusable.
So, buying? Or selling. Or both. If neither, shoo!"
- "Hmm … no presentation of incomparable beauty is complete without proper attire. It's no use looking gorgeous if you're going to ruin the effect with rags.
Please note that I don't sell either of those things. Just thinking aloud."
- "Some sailors tried to convince me they'd found a new type of mudcrab—one bigger than a Dragon! Of course, you know sailors. Always exaggerating.
Now, I'm no sailor. When I say my goods can do a thing, they do."
After People of Import is completed:
- "These tremors are becoming a nuisance. I had little use for the so-called Gonfalon Colossus—an over sized, over-rated eyesore, in my estimation. But how can I concentrate with all this persistent shaking?
Well. What do you want?"
- "Yes, yes, the volcano is a terrible disaster looming over the entire island, I'm sure. Stay away from lava vents and toppling statues, and you'll be just fine.
Now, can we discuss more profitable concerns?"
After To Catch a Magus is completed:
- "What are those drafted druids doing over on Y'ffelon? The Firesong Circle is supposed to keep the volcano placated. Surely they can manage that much.
Well, I am sure they will straighten it out. How can I help you?"
- "Strange. There is a disturbance in the mystic currents. Someone is playing with powers they should not meddle with. The source of the volcano's anger, perhaps?
Ah, forgive my speculations. How can I help you, traveler?"
