An Unwanted TwinEdit
You first meet Ruvali in the stable's after meeting Ulov's monster for the first time:
- "Have you seen my husband? We got separated when those Khajiiti animals started rioting."
- No, I haven't seen him.
- "This is all their fault—the hauntings, the destroyed crops, the ruin of a beautiful home. They're foul-smelling animals. I told Tiril that Cat-Men make poor slaves.
And then there's that monster. They brought it here." - What do you know about the monster?
- "Ra-shadda summoned it. He's some kind of shaman. My husband broke up a ritual that Cat-Man was performing a few nights ago. We punished everyone there and confiscated a totem from their makeshift altar.
The creature's afraid of that totem." - What do you mean?
- "I saw the creature slip into one of our guards. He attacked me, so I panicked and hit him with the totem. He wailed and ran off.
I should have kept that totem with me. In all the chaos, I left it in our bedroom."
Speaking with her after this conversation:
- "If you see Tiril, tell him to meet me back at the house."
The next time you speak to her will be outside of her house, after you've retrieved the Idol of the Hollow Moon from her bedroom. Tiril is standing near the bridge across from the two of you. Knowing what you saw in Ruvali's bedroom, that's not the real Tiril.
- "There's something wrong with Tiril. I ... I'm afraid to go near him."
- That's not Tiril. I found his corpse in your bedroom.
- "No! I don't believe you.
I know that's him. There's just something wrong with him." - I'll prove it to you with this idol.
Speaking with her after this exchange:
- "He hasn't said anything. Hasn't moved. He's just watching."
Once you use the totem on her husband's copy, she still think it's still her husband:
- "Don't hurt him. He's just frightened."
You will find her next in her bedroom, mourning over the body of her real, dead husband.
- "We were going to expand the plantation. We wanted to trade the useless cat-men for some strong Bretons and Redguards."
- Do you want this idol?
- "I want nothing that belonged to that dirty cat-man Ra-shadda.
He brought that monster here. He must know a way to send it back."
Shattering MirrorEdit
If you haven't started the quest yet, she will say:
- "I don't care anymore. I've lost everything now.
If you want to stop that monster, you'll need to talk to Ra-shadda."
Otherwise continuing from the conversation that you will need to find Ra-shadda:
- Where is Ra-shadda?
- "The Cat-Man's inside the barn in the center of the plantation. Maybe he stayed to watch his monster tear us apart. Wicked animal.
Here, take the idol. I don't want it near me." - Stay here. I'll talk to the Khajiit.
Talking to her again:
- "He was so good to me. I can't believe he's really gone."
After speaking to Ra-shadda and before charging the idol:
- "I don't care anymore. I've lost everything now.
If you want to stop that monster, you'll need to find Ra-shadda."
You can speak with Ruvali again after you've charged the Idol of the Hollow Moon. She is still kneeling beside her dead husband. Ra-shadda came by while you were charging the idol to apologize for summoning the dro-m'Athra.
- "Ra-shadda asked to be forgiven. The beast blathered about understanding and change.
The animal responsible for the death of my Tiril dared to address me!" - He spoke of peace?
- "He spoke of his dead wife and his tortured people. He's mimicking sorrow, but Khajiit are incapable of normal emotions. Right?
Look at my sweet Tiril. Ra-shadda must pay for Tiril's death. You agree with me, right?"
Your response here has an effect on the end of the quest.
Agreeing with RuvaliEdit
- Ra-shadda must pay for his crimes.
- "Yes, he must. We agree, then. It's settled."
- Where is Ra-shadda now?
- "He went to the stables. Tell Ulov to meet us there.
Ra-shadda wanted you to use the totem on some godless altar east of the pumpkin patch. Once you've found Ulov and used the totem, meet us at the stables." - Did he say why I must use the altar?
- "He said the ritual would protect you. If you kill the creature while holding the charged totem, it will be destroyed when it tries to possess you.
I don't know whether to believe him or not."
Speaking to her again:
- "Go tell Ulov to meet me in the stables. Then use that totem at the altar near the pumpkin patch.
Whether the monster is killed or not doesn't matter to me. My life is done."
You will speak next at the stables. Ruvali is confronting Ra-shadda, who is bound.
- "He claims a Cat-Man can know sorrow. I should pull out his tongue.
Can a mudcrab mourn? No. When you kill their brood, it's nothing to them. But when they harm someone you love ...." - Where is Ulov?
- "I didn't see him when I arrived, but he must have been here. Ra-shadda was already bound. Ulov must hav—
Wait. Ulov?"
Speaking to her before confronting "Ulov":
- "I want my Tiril back. He always knew what to do. How can I go on without him?"
After using the idol on Ulov:
- "It's the creature! It's in Ulov!"
When you return from killing Fake Ulov, Ra-shadda is dead, his corpse slumped on the floor of the barn.
- "I felt him die. I choked him and choked him and I felt him die. Why should I forgive him? Mercy is weakness.
The monster. Is it dead?" - Ulov is dead.
- "Good. Avenging Tiril's murder will require the deaths of many more Cat-Men. As you said, his kind must pay."
After the quest:
- "This plantation will be rebuilt and repopulated with many cat-man slaves.
And I will work every one of them to death in memory of my Tiril."
Disagreeing with RuvaliEdit
- I know Ra-shadda genuinely mourns his wife.
- "You believe that? But, my Tiril ....
Enough. Enough death." - Where is Ra-shadda now?
- "The cat went to the stables; tell Ulov to meet us there.
Ra-shadda wanted you to use the totem on some godless altar east of the pumpkin pathc. Once you've found Ulov and used the totem, meet us at the stables. - Did he say why I must use the altar?
- "He said the ritual would protect you. If you kill the creature while holding the charged totem, it will be destroyed when it tries to possess you.
I don't know whether to believe him or not."
The next time you speak will be in the barn. Ra-shadda is tied up, and Ruvali is facing him. Ulov is strangely absent.
- "Why should I care about his wife's death? Look at him. He's an animal. He's the enemy!
My Tiril. He took my Tiril." - Where is Ulov?
- "I didn't see him when I arrived, but he must have been here. Ra-shadda was already bound. Ulov must hav-

Speaking to her again:
- "Go tell Ulov to meet me in the stables. Then use that totem at the altar near the pumpkin patch.

Speaking to her before confronting "Ulov":
- "I want my Tiril back. He always knew what to do. How can I go on without him?"
After using the idol on Ulov:
- "It's the creature! It's in Ulov!"
When you return from killing Fake Ulov, Ruvali is untying Ra-shadda.
- "My hands are betraying me. I can't believe I listened to you.
Did you kill that monster?" - Ulov is dead.
- "Good. But I won't forgive that Khajiit for Tiril's death. Even if he does forgive me for the death of his wife.
But I suppose there's been enough killing."
After the quest:
- "This place was built on suffering. If we continue to enslave other races, they'll never stop rising against us.
It took the devastation of my home and the death of my beloved Tiril to show me this."
