Skaldir's Shadow[1] is the shadow of Skaldir, a Nord Docent of the Mages Guild and an associate scryer in the Order of the Eye. It appears when you arrive to speak to Skaldir, rising up from the ground and stabbing him to death before vanishing. Bonafryd, who it is later discovered was responsible for summoning the shadow, arrives at the scene just after.

When you arrive at the Mages Guild in Mournhold Skaldir expresses gratitude at your arrival:
- "We found something powerful. A Daedric—wait, what's happening?"
Skaldir's Shadow grabs him and stabs him through the chest, instantly killing him. Bonafryd then rushes in.
