- 2 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
- 3 – Adds 657 Critical Chance
- 4 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
- 5 – Dealing damage with Burning Light twice within 30 seconds creates a 5 meter area for 5 seconds. This effect can occur once every 6 seconds.
While in the area, dealing damage with an Aedric Spear ability launches a spear at your target, dealing Magic Damage and applying Sundered and increasing your Weapon and Spell Damage by 300 for 6 seconds. The damage scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
- Beacon of Oblivion – Sorcerer, Daedric Summoning
- 2 – Adds 1487 Armor
- 3 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
- 4 – Adds 1206 Maximum Health

- 2 – Adds 1487 Offensive Penetration
- 3 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
- 4 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
- 5 – Your Light Attacks deal Flame Damage every 2 seconds over 6 seconds.
Your fully-charged Heavy Attacks consume up to 3 of your damage over time effects to deal Flame Damage in a 6 meter radius on the target, dealing up to 200% more damage to enemies below 33% Health. The damage scales off of the higher of your Weapon or Spell damage and is increased by 20% for each damage over time effect on the target, up to 60%.
- Umbral Edge – Nightblade, Shadow
- 2 – Adds 1206 Maximum Health
- 3 – Adds 1487 Armor
- 4 – Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina

- 2 – Adds 1487 Offensive Penetration
- 3 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
- 4 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
- 5 – Dealing damage with a Light Attack applies Eagle's Mark to your target for 12 seconds. Eagle's Mark causes an eagle to attack your target every 3 seconds after a 3 second delay, dealing Physical Damage per attack and increasing your damage done with Animal Companion abilities by 10% against them.
This effect can occur every 3 seconds but cannot be applied to enemies who already have Eagle's Mark. You can have one Eagle's Mark active at a time.
- Corpseburster – Necromancer, Grave Lord
- 2 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
- 3 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
- 4 – Adds 657 Critical Chance

- Spattering Disjunction – Arcanist, Herald of the Tome
- 2 – Adds 657 Critical Chance
- 3 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
- 4 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage

Known IssuesEdit
Exploration & ItemizationEdit
Achievements
- The achievement “Guild Store Shopper” is currently not functioning correctly.
Alliance War & PvPEdit
Battlegrounds
- If you queue into an active Solo Random Battleground that is at full capacity (12 players), then backfill a team after a player leaves, you may be stuck on a loading screen as the attempt to backfill may not function correctly. Restarting your client should workaround this issue.
- If you’re disconnected from a Group Random Battleground during play, you may receive the message “You or a member of your team is locked out of queueing,” but no Deserter debuff is applied and the lockout timer will not expire for 30 minutes (even though the visible timer will expire after 5 minutes).
HousingEdit
Mundus Stones
- You cannot interact with a mundus stone and gain its buff while set to “Limited Visitor” permissions in a house. Currently Mundus Stones require "visitor" permissions. This is not intended and will be addressed in a future incremental.
Dungeons & Group ContentEdit
Infinite Archive
- The Mystery Transformation Verse consumable lacks the tooltip when using it. The consumable grants one inactive transformation verse from Mora’s Boons, and is only usable in the Infinite Archive; it is limited to a single use per Archive run.
UIEdit
- Certain Passives and Item Sets with permanent bonuses are incorrectly increasing the size of the Magicka and Stamina bar.
MiscellaneousEdit
- The Red Rook Camp location is incorrectly linked to a Gold Road collectible. This can cause the completion icon to appear grayed-out.
Combat & GameplayEdit
Combat & AbilitiesEdit
Greetings everyone! Update 43 is here, and with it a slew of changes focused on following up on this year’s big feature, Scribing! We’ve gone through much of the feedback that has come in between Update 42’s PTS cycle and the feature going live, resulting in some updates to the potency of some Scripts and Grimoire combinations, general buffs to numbers, bug fixing, and some functionality changes in rare cases.
We’ve got plenty more outside of Scribing, however, with a handful of updates and additions to some class ability functionality, primarily focused on improving Necromancer’s access to the Major/Minor system, the highly requested in-combat casting of Sacrificial Bones, and a few morph buffs to spice up some gameplay potential. We also have some moderate adjustments to Wardens that aim to help differentiate power levels if you’re a tank or damage dealer, to reduce some of the power the class can easily access in PvP. We’re also reorganizing some Nightblade abilities to make sure they better align with their sourced skill line’s vision and theme, while ever-so-slightly improving their PvE damage production and peeling back some of the ease of defensive power the assassin playstyle has access to.
Outside of that, we have a handful of other adjustments, such as making Vampire’s Undeath passive less restrictive but also less powerful, cleaning up a bunch of item set interactions, better splitting the morph functionality of Abyssal Impact, and a hefty amount of bug fixes involving stealth interaction. That about wraps up the main points to expect this update, thanks for reading and we hope to see you in Tamriel!
General
- Fixed an issue where a group member’s Health could appear desynced when attacked outside of your detection radius (really far away) in some cases.
Arcanist
- Herald of the Tome
- Abyssal Impact
- Cephaliarch's Flail (morph):
- This morph no longer gains execute scaling damage.
- The healing from this morph now only occurs if the ability damaged a target, to ensure it can only be used aggressively, rather than at any time.
- Tentacular Dread (morph): This morph now increases its damage done by 33% per Crux consumed, up from 20%.
- Cephaliarch's Flail (morph):
- Abyssal Impact
In this pass, we're trying to better align the power dynamic between these morphs. Very early in development, Flail was actually used predominantly as an execute with much more potent scaling, but over time during the class's development, we reduced this function when Fatecarver came into being and took the spotlight. Originally, we kept this functionality to pay homage to that, but since both morphs added damage functionalities, it created a situation where one was always going to be better than the other. Rather than trying to have an arms race between the two, we've done more of a hard split, where Flail remains a generic "buff" morph that allows you to gain additional effects and contextual uses, while Dread more radically shifts how the ability is utilized. In addition to this, the increased drain of Crux that Dread asks of you wasn't as rewarding as we would have liked, so we're bumping up the reward for using it well.
- Curative Runeforms
- Vitalizing Glyphic
- Fixed an issue where this ultimate and its morphs could sometimes tick more than once every second.
- Vitalizing Glyphic
Necromancer
- Added Major and Minor effects to numerous Necromantic abilities to help the class better enfeeble their foes and empower themselves with the taste of death.
- The following minions/abilities will now only generate a corpse if their summoner was also in combat, in efforts to reduce the ability to generate Ultimate out of combat:
- Sacrificial Bones and Grave Lord’s Sacrifice
- Skeletal Mage and its morphs
- Bone Armor and its morphs
- Spirit Mender and its morphs
- Gravelord
- Boneyard: This ability and its morphs now also apply Minor Vulnerability to enemies inside the area. The chill of death embraces those in its wake.
- Unnerving Boneyard (morph): This ability's Minor Vulnerability and Major Breach now persist on enemies for 4.1 seconds each tick, rather than only while in the area.
- Fixed a bug where the sound effects for the gravestones spawning was missing.
- Sacrificial Bones:
- This ability and the Grave Lord’s Sacrifice morph no longer require you to be in combat in order to cast them.
- Fixed an issue where the damage increase from this ability and its morphs did not properly update many ability tooltips.
- Shocking Siphon: This ability and its morphs now also grant you Major Prophecy and Savagery for 20 seconds after casting. Such lack of respect for the dead spurs the spreading of more of it.
- Detonating Siphon (morph): Fixed an issue where the damage from the explosion of this morph could not be blocked.
- Skeletal Mage: This ability and its morphs now also grant you Major Brutality and Sorcery for their active duration. Such audacious manipulation of death fuels your desire for more of it.
- Boneyard: This ability and its morphs now also apply Minor Vulnerability to enemies inside the area. The chill of death embraces those in its wake.
- Bone Tyrant
- Bone Armor: This ability and its morphs now also grant Minor Resolve for their duration. The bones must've belonged to milk drinkers.
- Summoner's Armor (morph): This morph now also lasts 30 seconds, up from 20.
- Bone Totem: This ability and its morphs now also apply Major Cowardice to enemies inside it. Such horrific sights instill hopelessness to even the mightiest of foes.
- Agony Totem: The synergy granted from this morph, Pure Agony, no longer applies Minor Vulnerability, as Boneyard now applies it.
- Grave Grasp
- Ghostly Embrace (morph): This morph now also deals damage equal to half of a normal area effect spammable attack to enemies in each patch. The ability now ranks up in 1.1% damage per rank, rather than adding .333ms to each negative effect per rank.
- Bone Armor: This ability and its morphs now also grant Minor Resolve for their duration. The bones must've belonged to milk drinkers.
We're adding some additional damage sources outside of the Necromancer's Gravelord skill line to help inject some contextual options for damage production, without harming their utility. While this ability won't outweigh some purely damage oriented skills, with proper aiming and placement, the ability to hit the same enemy with multiple patches allows for some powerful damage scaling that can contextually out-perform other ability options.
- Living Death
- Spirit Mender
- Intensive Mender (morph): This morph now also heals 2 additional allies within 8 meters of the original target, since the morph did not add direct power to the base ability.
- Spirit Mender
Nightblade
- Shifted numerous Nightblade abilities to improve their thematic tie into their skill line, while simultaneously addressing some long-standing balance issues the class has had in PvP environments. These changes are listed below, rather than explaining each change in an isolated bullet point:
- Moved Blur and its morphs out of the Assassination skill line and into the Shadow skill line. Blur is now the first ability in the Shadow line, taking the place of Veiled Strike. This means Blur and its morphs will now be treated as Shadow abilities and interact with augments that come from the Shadow skill line, rather than the Assassination skill line.
- Moved Veiled Strike and its morphs out of the Shadow skill line and into the Assassination skill line. Veiled Strike is now the first ability in the Assassination line, taking the place of Assassin's Blade. This means Veiled Strike and its morphs will now be treated as Assassination abilities and interact with augments that come from the Assassination skill line, rather than the Shadow skill line.
- Moved Assassin's Blade and its morphs to the open slot that Blur originally occupied as the 3rd ability unlocked from the skill line.
We're going through and cleaning up some large inconsistencies with the Nightblade class by reorganizing some abilities that felt out of place, both thematically from their skill line as well as balance-wise. Blur, an ability that focuses on aiding your evasive and tank-like capabilities, is now placed in Shadow as it operates more heavily within that theme and skill line's intent. Veiled Strike, an ability that focuses on dealing consistent and precise damage, has been moved to the skill line that focuses on those elements and no longer adds bonuses to your survivability like triggering the Shadow Barrier passive, but instead offers damage focused bonuses like Hemorrhage and Pressure Points. With these adjustments, we hope to reign in and organize some of the bonuses the class interacts with so it feels more sensible and balanced overall.
- Shadow
- Shadow Barrier: This passive now grants its Major Resolve for 6/12 seconds, rather than 3/6 seconds. It now increases by 2 seconds per piece of Heavy Armor worn at either rank, rather than extending the duration by 25% per piece worn.
Now that Veiled Strike no longer activates this passive, we're making it easier to manage for the class as a whole, while still creating incentives to benefit tanks over damage dealers. Overall, this should now be easier to upkeep at all levels but should still have less uptime for Nightblades that aren't engaging with the more evasive side of their toolkit. These new values should now also better align with the duration effect abilities that are extended with Dark Veil. We don’t expect this to rock the boat too much in either PvE or PvP but should reinforce the need to cast Shadow abilities more regularly, rather than being able to maintain it simultaneously while dealing their bread and butter damaging attack.
- Siphoning
- Strife: Fixed an issue where this ability and its morphs’ healing failed to activate if the target was blocking.
- Funnel Health (morph): This morph now heals up to 3 targets, rather than 2, so its morph power upgrade is similar to Radiating Regeneration.
- Strife: Fixed an issue where this ability and its morphs’ healing failed to activate if the target was blocking.
Sorcerer
- Daedric Summoning
- Daedric Curse:
- This ability and its morphs now deal their full damage in an area around the cursed enemy, rather than dealing full damage to the cursed enemy and half damage in an area around them.
- This damage can no longer be blocked, as this feature was never messaged on the ability and is not considered a Damage over Time, nor is its damage-based on other damaging events.
- Daedric Prey: This morph now properly mentions that it also forces your active pets to prioritize the target.
- Daedric Curse:
We're moving forward with a change that streamlines this ability into one powerful area attack rather than splitting it between a single target and area attack, to help Sorcerers gain some cleave damage in PvE. In addition, we're removing some remnant balance behavior of the skill being unable to be blocked, as originally, the Sorcerer class had no real way to deal with enemies that blocked their burst windows, and the telegraphed nature of the skill was easily countered. Over the years, however, this weakness has naturally been solved with the addition of crowd control that cannot be blocked in the form of Bolt Escape and its morphs. This should help reduce the incredibly powerful burst that the class can constantly dish out in PvP from a base, and instead shift the focus to only be able to pull these events off when they're taking riskier plays.
Templar
- Dawn’s Wrath
- Radiant Destruction: Fixed an issue where this ability and its morphs’ visuals would appear to spill out and reflect on yourself when the abilities triggered the Overcharged status effect on the enemy target.
- Solar Flare: Increased the duration of the Sunsphere and Empower granted from this ability and the Dark Flare morph to 10 seconds, up from 5.
Warden
- Winter’s Embrace
- Arctic Wind
- Arctic Blast (morph):
- This morph now instantly deals damage equal to a normal area effect spammable attack, rather than healing you instantly. Instead, the healing happens if the ability failed to damage any enemies with the initial hit. The Damage over Time now only starts after the 2 second delay, rather than instantly.
- Reduced the Damage over Time by ~21% per tick, resulting in little to no changes in its total base damage dealt with the initial hit added.
- Reduced the healing from this ability by ~11%.
- Reduced the base chance to apply the Chilled Status effect to 10% per tick, down from 15%. The initial hit has a 25% chance to apply the Chilled status.
- Reduced the cost to 3780, down from 4320
- Arctic Blast (morph):
- Arctic Wind
In this pass, we're tweaking how this ability functions to reduce some of its raw power to do damage, crowd control, and heal all at once. Now, the ability can be used to deal the same total damage over its duration, with more damage focused on an up-front hit - granting the Warden a class-based area effect spammable that it previously lacked. Additionally, we're changing the healing to be a conditional requirement rather than a guarantee, so the ability can act as a heal when you back away from the fight, rather than outright removing it.It is our hope that these changes still help the Warden class have access to powerful tools from their kit, without the overwhelming power they enabled in PvP situations.
- Piercing Cold: Reworked this passive to grant varying effects based on your Max Health to better align with the passive being for tanks, while continuing to offer something for damage dealers. This passive now grants Piercing Cold for 6 seconds when you deal Frost Damage, up to once every 6 seconds. If you have 30,000 or more Max Health, Piercing Cold increases the damage you block by 6/12%. If you have less than 30,000 Max Health, it grants you 4/8% damage done.
We're re-evaluating this passive to reduce the restrictions it places on builds, while simultaneously making sure we offer a tank-oriented bonus for the tanking-based skill line. In addition to this, we're ensuring the bonuses are less likely to inject offensive power in PvP scenarios, as the Warden is already consistently finding success at dealing damage while remaining tanky. The damage bonuses are less than the previous iteration of this passive since its significantly less restrictive to damage build paths, and the previous update also added more damage to their kit as well in form of Betty Netch.
Weapon
- Destruction Staff
- Ancient Knowledge: Fixed an issue where this passive could cause your Health Bar to glow permanently.
- Weakness to Elements
- Elemental Susceptibility: Fixed an issue where this ability would break stealth and invisibility each tick.
- Dual Wield
- Hidden Blade
- Shrouded Daggers: Fixed an issue where the bouncing daggers were not being properly treated as a ranged attack in some instances.
- Hidden Blade
Guild
- Fighter’s Guild
- Silver Bolts
- Silver Leash: Fixed an issue with this morph where it could fail to behave like other pull abilities.
- Silver Bolts
- Mages Guild
- Entropy
- Structured Entropy: Fixed an issue where this morph would remove stealth and invisibility from the target each time the healing projectile was sent to the caster of the effect.
- Entropy
Skill Styling
- Corrected an issue that caused Skill Style selection elements to appear for skills that did not have styles to select from.
World
- Werewolf
- Fixed an issue where some passives could be gained in Werewolf form when they should be disabled.
- Roar
- Deafening Roar (morph): Fixed an issue where this morph’s taunt could apply to multiple targets at once.
- Werewolf Transformation
- Pack Leader (morph): Fixed an issue where the direwolves from this morph could cause some monsters to despawn immediately upon entering combat with them
- Vampire
- Undeath:
- This passive now reduces damage taken by up to 7/15%, down from up to 15/30%.
- Undeath:
Undeath has granted incredibly sharp bonuses for a while, incentivizing huge investment into the "kiss-curse" aspect that the Vampire has. This made it highly potent for players who could work around the trade-offs, while simultaneously creating a very exclusive bonus that many could not get value out of. With these new values we hope the passive still encourages investment into the Vampiric playstyle, without creating a sense that they’re mandatory to obtain.
- Soul Magic
- Soul Trap: Fixed an issue where this skill was not being auto granted to all characters that unlocked the skill line.
Champion SystemEdit
Warfare
- Occult Overload: Fixed an issue where the damage from this effect did not obey line of sight.
ScribingEdit
General
- Added Scribing Altars to Cyrodiil base camps and the Imperial City sewers.
- Updated the visual effects for the True-Sight Lens overlay to reduce feelings of motion sickness.
- Fixed an issue that could prevent Grimoires from showing in the UI when trying to Scribe.
Luminous Ink
- To better align with other specialty crafting materials, we have added additional sources for Luminous Ink.
- If you have the Dragon Luminary’s Blessing, you now have a low chance for Luminous Ink to drop with Treasure Chests.
- If you have the Gryphon Luminary’s Blessing, you now have a low chance for Luminous Ink to drop in Heavy Sacks.
Grimoires
- All Grimoires have received small numerical increases to some of their Focus and Signature script interactions in order to simulate the progression that normal abilities receive as they rank up.
- This is mainly accomplished by increasing damage, healing, shielding, or other stat scaling effects on abilities by 3.3% for Focus scripts (which we treat as a “base ability”), and 6.6% for Signature scripts (which we treat as a “morph decision”). This should help increase Scribed abilities feel more numerically viable when compared to non-Scribed abilities in the high-end experiences, without tipping the scales too much in their favor.
- Check each individual Grimoire section for the specific changes that don’t adhere to the listed 3.3% or 6.6% adjustments.
- Elemental Explosion
- Increased all damaging Focus script’s status effect chance to 10%, rather than the default 5%, as the Grimoire has a longer commitment and travel time.
- Reduced the Knockback Focus’ knockback distance to 10 meters, down from 12, when paired with this Grimoire.
- Increased the Druid's Resurgence Signature when paired with this Grimoire to 470 Magicka per target, up from 441.
- Fixed an issue where the War Mage’s Defense Signature tooltip was inaccurate to the ability functionality when paired with this Grimoire. The ability grants a much larger Damage Shield than it previously stated, and it now properly mentions its scaling of becoming 20% stronger per enemy hit, rather than implying it increases by 100% per enemy hit.
- Fixed an issue where the Damage Shield was capped at 50% of your Max Health, despite scaling based on number of targets hit. It now properly has no cap to its size, similarly to Brawler.
- Mender’s Bond
- Increased the Restore Resources Focus when paired with this Grimoire to 225 Magicka and Stamina per tick, up from 215.
- Increased the Druid's Resurgence Signature when paired with this Grimoire to 80 Magicka and Stamina per tick, up from 74.
- Updated the tooltip so it properly updates the ability name upon selection of a focus.
- Shield Throw
- Increased the Druid’s Resurgence Signature when paired with this Grimoire to 165 Stamina per tick, up from 152.
- Smash
- Increased the Druid’s Resurgence Signature when paired with this Grimoire to 200 Stamina per tick, up from 184.
- Increased the Leeching Thirst Signature’s healing done when paired with this Grimoire to 35%, up from 33%.
- Goading Smash, the Taunt Focus pairing, now requires a target to activate, rather than being a freely aimed ability. This adjustment ensures that the enemy you target is now the target of your taunt, rather than only taunting the nearest enemy to you when you activated the ability.
This combination was always intended to be more of a unique way to taunt enemies compared to other abilities, but its difficulty to reliably hit your primary target made it feel even more limiting than we wanted. We've decided to go with a larger change to the ability's delivery to help it feel better when you pick this specific Focus, so it feels more handcrafted to what you'd look for in such a unique combination.
- Fixed an issue where Goading Smash did not properly count as a casting a Taunt ability.
- Torchbearer
- Increased the Druid's Resurgence Signature when paired with this Grimoire to 200 Stamina per tick, up from 74.
- Traveling Knife
- Increased the Leeching Thirst Signature when paired with this Grimoire to 25%, up from 20%.

- Fixed an issue where the animation for this Grimoire did not properly react when you landed in shallow water. Now you will splish splash, as if taking a bath, when you land in the water after using any version of this ability.
- Increased the Heal Focus by ~55% when paired with this Grimoire, since it was healing for the same as a damage Focus but costing significantly more than it should.
- Increased the Druid’s Resurgence Signature when paired with this Grimoire to 200 Stamina per tick, up from 175.
- Wield Soul
- Reduced the Druid's Resurgence Signature when paired with this Grimoire to 600 Magicka and Stamina, down from 1000.
Scripts
- Fixed an issue where many Signature scripts that dealt Damage over Time did not properly interact with stealth and invisibility. These effects will now properly damage but not break stealth or invisibility from targets and can no longer miss.
- Scripts acquired from Daily Quest Coffers and world drops will no longer have variable levels or sell values. They will always be level 1 and always sell to vendors for 999 gold.
- Script items now stack properly.
- Anchorites Cruelty and Potency: Fixed an issue where this script would fail to consume Soul Gems in some specific combinations.
- Class Mastery
- Increased the resources restored from the Nightblade Class Mastery script to 400, up from 333.
- Increased the resources restored from the Warden Class Mastery script to 1435, up from 1000.
- Fixed an issue where the Warden version of the Signature did not properly display an enemy telegraph.
- Necromancer: Fixed an issue where this script could fail to grant its bonuses in some cases.
- Fixed a typo with the Dragonknight Class Script in several Grimoires.
- For Scribing in U43, we are adding additional Frost Script Support to the following Grimoires:
- Shield Throw
- Wield Soul
- Soul Burst
All of these will now be able to use the Frost Focus Script in addition to the existing Frost Support on Elemental Explosion and Ulfsild's Contingency.
We realized that we hadn't sufficiently provided Frost Support for those of you who enjoy that archetype, and are working to resolve this deficit. In addition, we are also adding support for 23 existing Affix Scripts to existing Grimoires. We know you want even more choice with how you make your Scribed Skills just right for your sets, so we are working to help support that. For the most part, we have made our hybrid Scripts more widely sourced, such as Brutality/Sorcery, Savagery/Prophecy, and Intellect/Endurance. The full list of additions is here:
- Vault
- Berserk
- Brutality/Sorcery
- Intellect/Endurance
- Shield Throw
- Savagery/Prophecy
- Brutality/Sorcery
- Smash
- Savagery/Prophecy
- Brutality/Sorcery
- Elemental Explosion
- Savagery/Prophecy
- Mender’s Bond
- Evasion
- Force
- Vulnerability
- Traveling Knife
- Brutality/Sorcery
- Force
- Wield Soul
- Savagery/Prophecy
- Maim
- Soul Burst
- Savagery/Prophecy
- Brutality/Sorcery
- Contingency
- Savagery/Prophecy
- Brutality/Sorcery
- Torchbearer
- Savagery/Prophecy

- Trample
- Brutality/Sorcery

Affixes
- Affix durations now follow a simpler and streamlined rule where Major buffs and debuffs last for 10 seconds, while Minor buffs and debuffs last for 20 seconds. This results in the following changes:
- Trample’s Major Savagery and Prophecy now last 10 seconds, down from 20.
- Trample’s Minor Heroism and Minor Expedition have been converted to Major Heroism and Expedition since they only apply to the caster. They now last for 10 seconds, rather than 20 since they are Major effects.
- Elemental Explosion’s Major Savagery and Prophecy now last 10 seconds, down from 10.
- Traveling Knife’s Major Savagery and Prophecy now last 10 seconds, down from 20.
- Vault’s Major Evasion now lasts 10 seconds, down from 20.
- Shield Throw’s Minor Enervation now lasts 20 seconds, up from 10.
- Mender’s Bond’s Affixes remain at 10 seconds upon application since they apply each tick from a 12 second duration ability. This technically allows their maximum uptime to be 22 seconds rather than 20, which we’re leaving as-is for now since tethers are a little more volatile than normal abilities.
We’ve decided to streamline our durations of Affixes to ensure they’re easier to understand – Major Affixes should apply a powerful effect for a mild duration, while Minor Affixes should apply lesser effects for a longer duration.
We’ve opted for this design space to ensure powerful effects require more frequent engagement, while less impactful events are easier to maintain. We understand this can lead to situations where your Signature and Affix durations may misalign and create situations where you must weigh when you should recast the ability, but we believe this to be an important and conscious decision that should be pondered when you’re crafting your ability.
