On the Structural Division of the In'eslaen Order of Exorcists: Regarding the Bonerats
A complimentary addition handed out with the original pamphlet given to new recruits on the seventh day of Heart’s Fire, 4E 163

The Bonerats, an outcast subdivision of the third division of the Order of Witch-Hunters, do not conform to the usual appearance and antics of others within their division. The magic used by this 'clan' would be disrupted, if not rendered entirely impotent, by the use of solarite, for example, and thus most of the equipment given to witch-hunters is eschewed by this borderline heretical group. They are, however, still identifiable by their equipment, if one should be so foolish as to go through their packs. The most obvious example of this would be the reinforced jars each member of this subdivision carries. These jars are used to house the primary tool of the Bonerats: their rotwyrms. These creatures, whom are Daedric in nature, can be found on Nirn wherever the influence of Narhi'ma is strong enough for them to escape from the Dark. Approximately a foot long, their translucent skin and apparent lack of any internal structures, such as organs, make them hard to detect in the wild.

These jars, which are made of tempered glass, are also reinforced with a mesh of ornate wiring, the designs of which are unique to the Bonerat who made them. However, these designs often follow a trend of depicting life forms and patterns associated with Narhi'ma, the patron of the Bonerats, and are always tightly spaced to prevent the 'wyrms from escaping should the glass be broken.

In this manner, a deceased Bonerat can be identified despite any gross disfiguration of their corpse, much as how the uniquely branded hammers carried by other witch-hunters can be used to identify their subdivisions. If it wasn't obvious before, the Bonerats niche when it comes to witch-hunting, exorcisms, and performing rector duties is tracking down and counteracting the movements of illegal necromancers (which is why their sister-divisions find them morose and creepy in their demeanors).

Another means of identifying a Bonerat, one much simpler and less risky than searching through their possessions, would be to keep a sharp eye open for the rat-tail adornments all experienced Bonerats carry. These adornments can be anything from bracelets to necklaces, charms, and even rosaries, but can always be identified by their unique texture. Strangely, the preservation ritual performed on the severed tails of the rats that these hunters utilize for their hunts does not seem to turn the already tough tail into leather. Rather, the tails retain their softness and suppleness, even when shrunk so much as to resemble stones.
