Fargrave
Hexos Auction House

House Hexos was the foremost mortal family in Fargrave,[1] and was in charge of the mercantile empire that extends far into the myriad realms of Oblivion. From their emporium in Fargrave, their agents pursued the goods of a dozen worlds and arrange for their delivery to discerning buyers throughout Tamriel.[2]

Similarily to the Gleaners of Aurbis and Saraathu Tong, House Hexos was one of the organizations created to assist mortals in the complexities of Fargrave trade. House Hexos has its headquarters and numerous facilities in the city of Fargrave. Their auction house could be found in the western district of the city, and their official stalls were located in the Bazaar.[3][4] They also operated a number of warehouses in Fargrave.[5] House Hexos also had its presence in the Shambles. One of their gallery vaults was located in this dangerous district.[6]

House Hexos offered and provided guidance, advice, and employment to the willing mortal,[3][7] and daedric[8] agents and laborers. They recruited skilled adventurers and mercenaries for various tasks, such as escorting their representatives.[2][9][3]

They cooperated with Saraathu Tong and were described as reliable by their representative.[10]

At some point in 1E 1261, House Hexos, which was one of the most influential trading houses of Tamriel at the time, discovered Fargrave. One of its members, Astia Hexos wrote a report to Hexos elders about the benefits of moving their enterprise to the realm. She suggested forming a connection with Madam Whim, a Dark Seducer of high regard throughout Fargrave.[11] The exact details of this deal are currently unknown, but suffice to say, House Hexos has since lost all claim on Tamriel while having become a powerful organization in Fargrave.[1]

As of 2E 582, House Hexos was still the biggest and most prominent mortal organization in Fargrave,[1][10] and has maintained its presence in the realm for generations.[12]

House Hexos sent its Junior Trader Falvior Stolin with a crew and wagon to Wretched Spire in Deadlands to collect alchemical reagents harvested by the locals. Shortly after Falvior's team departed with their load from the settlement they were taken captive by the patrol of Dremora and were marched off to Ardent Hope. Fortis Scaeva, House Hexos Chief of Operations made arrangements and obtained a writ of safe passage to negotiate Falvior's release with the Valkynaz Nokvroz. He refused to trade for the freedom of the captives and requested the Chief of Operations to leave. House Hexos planned to alter the way their operations in the plane were conducted and use intermediaries and freelancers.[13]

In the same year, Telvanni wizard Divayth Fyr discovered that someone intended to auction the Ebony Blade in the House Hexos Auction House. Fyr, with the assistance of the Vestige, discovered that the item that was intended to be sold was a replica of the real artifact and punished the person responsible for the forgery.[4] The auction and sale of the replica were delayed by the order of Galeria Hexos in an attempt to hide the item from Fyr,[8][5] and the item was relocated to the House Hexos gallery vault in the Shambles.[6][4] Ultimately, since the item was a replica the wizard lost his interest in acquiring the product.[4]

EquipmentEdit

House Hexos armor

Armor and weapons used by the retainers of the House Hexos are typically resilient and designed to withstand extreme weather conditions such as storms of ash, corrosive swamps, or bitter icefields. The colors of the House Hexos are olive green, brown leather, and emblems of deep red. Mercenaries in service of the House Hexos are expected to proudly wear the colors of the house. In many planes, safe-passage agreements of the House Hexos require proper identification, and as such easily identifiable armaments are favorable.[2]

ArmorEdit

Belts of the House Hexos are typically made from plates of treated alloy sandwiched in reinforced leather sleeves (or just the reinforced leather, in the case of lighter suits) as well as simple and functional. House troops assigned to ceremonial posts often display red gemstones in the shape of the Imperial diamond on the buckle. The trademark footwear of the House is resilient and protective. Materials such as overlapping shin-plates of browned iron and boiled and supple leather are used to provide a defense. Breastplates are designed to withstand almost any planar climate and consist of articulated plated of browned iron with layers of reinforced leather above and underneath. Reinforced leather and bronzed iron are also used for gloves, pauldrons, and leg armor. House Hexos values the ability to see and hear surroundings and as such its retainers prefer open-faced helmets. Ceremonial helms of heavy armor often feature a pair of blood-red wings—which serve as a statement of the wearer's loyalties to the House.[2]

WeaponsEdit

Mercenaries working for the House Hexos possess a variety of different combat skills, and the House offers a variety of weapons. House Hexos typically prefers metals over wood and adorn their weapons with Imperial diamond insignia. Axes and maces wielded by members of the House Hexos feature a haft of steel alloy. Bows used by archers are made of wood imported from Tamriel. The majority of the bows and shields are made of waxed olive wood from Niben Valley. Shields also possess a steel rim to prevent them from being hacked apart and are adorned with red Imperial diamond. Swords and daggers of the House are designed both for chopping and thrusting. Longer blades are forged from steel tempered with rare reagents from the planes of Oblivion, while shorter ones feature diamond-shaped points. Staves of the mages affiliated with the House are made of lightweight metal alloys and feature Imperial diamond imagery.[2]

OtherEdit

House Hexos utilized lucents, gems of daedric origins capable of storing energy Mages of the House Hexos researched those gems, but were not able to find all their secrets. They however focused on the utility provided by the material and planned to integrate them into their security structure.[14]
