Silaseli (translated as "Shining Halls" in Ayleidoon)[citation needed] is an expansive Ayleid ruin located on the southern shores of Halycon Lake, in the province of High Rock. In its time, Silaseli was a grand, ancestral castle and the seat of an Ayleid king, whose family dynasty lies buried underneath the ruins.[1]
HistoryEdit
It is unknown when Silaseli was founded. The Ayleids first inhabited High Rock after their vassal-states in Cyrodiil were dissolved in the early years of the Alessian Empire circa 1E 361.[2] For a time, Silaseli was ruled by King Uuril. He wielded great power in the region. He sired twenty-three children and arranged several marriages between allies and rivals to secure power for his family that could have lasted for generations. One such child was Princess Urenenya, who despite her father's insistence, had no intention to get married. The King was forced to lock her in a tower, where she would sing her song of lamentation through the day and night. When one day she stopped singing, she fell ill and the King was forced to unlock her tower so that she could heal. But not long after, she disappeared and was never seen again. It was confirmed by mystics that her soul had never reached Aetherius and while her whereabouts are unknown, Uuril's dynasty has long since passed.[1]
In 2E 582, the Breton mage, Arnitole hired a mercenary from the Dragonstar Caravan Company and traveled to Silaseli to retrieve an Ayleid relic, one that allowed him to enter the Silaseli dreamstate. When the mage activated the relic, his emotions were scattered all over the ruins and split between anger, fear, happiness, and sadness. When the mercenary tried to forcefully remove Arnitole, he turned himself into iron. The two enlisted the help of an adventurer to recover Arnitole's emotions in the dreamstate.[3]
