Talwinque, known in the Second Era as Eaglerock Ruins, is an Ayleid ruin located in the Colovian Highlands, northeast of Kvatch and northwest of Skingrad.[1] The ruin is noted for the large statues found inside its halls, as opposed to on the surface like many other ruins. Its two subsections of Talwinque Ceysel and Aransel translate to "Hall of Shadow" and "Hall of the King" respectively in Ayleidoon.
Following the fall of the White-Gold Tower in 1E 243 at the end of the Alessian Slave Rebellion, the clan of Talwinque escaped largely intact as they fled south beneath the canopy of Valenwood. They are presumed to have settled there and adopted the Green Pact under the terms of the native Bosmer, eventually being absorbed into their local population.[2] The burgeoning Alessian Empire toppled the remaining Ayleid cities of Cyrodiil one by one, and Talwinque subsequently fell into ruin.
Around 2E 582, as part of the plot by the Recollection to take over western Cyrodiil and return the Daedric Prince Ithelia to power, a jungle called Dawnwood suddenly appeared overnight and covered parts of the Colovian Highlands and the West Weald. The overgrown areas included the site of Talwinque.[3]
By the time of the Oblivion Crisis in 3E 433, the halls of the ruin had become home to a group of bandits. Many skeletons were found inside, although the origin of these unfortunate individuals is unknown.[4]
