Tharrikers (meaning Forest Raiders or Forest Hunters in Bosmeri)[UOL 1] are large, unnatural, and highly adaptable senche-like carnivores with four ears, feathery front legs, and scorpion-like tails.[1][2][3][4] They were created by the Recollection's use of corrupted Greenspeaker magic,[4][UOL 1] and sired in their "grow pits".[5] Despite their origins they are capable of reproduction by laying eggs.[3]
Tharrikers were first unleashed in the West Weald circa 2E 582, appearing around the same time the Dawnwood forest did.[5][3][2] They were often used to aid members of the Recollection in combat, with many also being affected by corruption from the Wildburn.[1] Tharrikers would quickly spread to other parts of Cyrodiil, some making it to the Jerall Mountains. The wild magic that created them allowed for rapid adaptation to the snowy slopes of their new home, as such as a white-furred subspecies arose in this region.[4]
A few were rescued from the Recollection's grow pits by the Imperial Legion. These rescued tharrikers were then trained to be used as mounts and kept in Skingrad's stables.[5][6] Goblins of the Rock Bone Tribe were also capable of training tharrikers.[2] The white-furred subspecies of the Jerall Mountains would be domesticated by the war deserters that hid in the region.[4]
