"Yet another mortal stands before the Prince of Mathness. Do you believe yourself versed in matters mathematical? Step forward and face me!" —Zyrcifel, the "Daedric Prince of Mathness"[1]

Zyrcifel, the self-proclaimed Daedric Prince of Mathness, is a Daedric servant of Lord Sheogorath, the Prince of Madness. He appears on Tamriel during failed summoning rituals, when Sheogorath's title is mispronounced as "mathness" instead of Madness. Zyrcifel is evidentially no true Daedric Prince; instead, he serves to torment mortals with endless mathematical questions. The only known method to free oneself of this curse is by sending Zyrcifel back to the Shivering Isles via ritual banishment.[2][1]

Zyrcifel appears dressed as a jester dressed in black and gold. He wears the Mask of Cheerful Slaughter, which displays the three faces of madness.[3]

HistoryEdit

Banishment of Zyrcifel

Circa 2E 582, a mage named Cintuudaer from the Corelanya College of Rituals bit his tongue while attempting to summon Sheogorath. As a result, he accidentally summoned Zyrcifel to the island of Solstice. Cintuudaer attempted to flee, but Zyrcifel followed him across the island for days, tormenting him with mathematical questions. Eventually, Cintuudaer managed to banish him with help from the Vestige.[2][1]
