Oblivion talk:Maeva the Buxom

EssentialEdit

IS Maeva ever flagged as essential, according to the Guard Uniforms article, speicifally the Anvil Uniform section, she is until Oblivion:When the Vow Breaks is completed but this is not mentioned here, if she is essential then can someone add the relevant entry to her npc summary. --Volanaro TCE 13:10, 19 August 2008 (EDT)

Good spot. I've taken it off the uniform page because it's simply untrue. –RpehTCE 01:01, 20 August 2008 (EDT)

Raking the floorEdit

Once, I saw this NPC sit in a chair in front of the fireplace and rake the floor. It was hilarious, but I'm wondering, is this in her schedule or was it just a fluke? — Unsigned comment by 70.135.97.74 (talk) at 00:41 on 2 April 2010

She's supposed to settle there at 9:00pm and read for 3 hours. If you've stolen the book in her inventory, she should just sit there. I can see it maybe happening if you stole the book at just the right time or something, but I haven't been able to reproduce it at all, so I'd say it's just a fluke. I can confirm that I just saw this occur again, and I had not stolen any book from her. — Unsigned comment by 75.21.165.123 (talk) at 18:21 on September 2, 2011

She seems to have several failsafes in place to prevent you from stealing Rockshatter (without killing her) in the Remaster, but you're still able to get it.Edit

While I'm not sure if this is intentional design or not, I've had some trouble trying to yoink this back from her without killing her, with failures including: - Fortifying sneak by 95/100 - Draining her sneak by 95/100 - 95/100% chameleon - Maxing disposition - Disintegrating her weapon - And various combinations of these actions

"Why not kill her?" It make me feel bad :(

However, after some extreme shenanigans, I've found a way to steal it without killing her. Hell, it's not even marked as stolen.

What you'll need(?): - Full set of 20% Chameleon armor - Bound Dagger (or weapon of your choosing) - Disintegrate weapon spell - Paralyze spell - Fortify Personality on self/Charm/Calm spell

Steps: - Get into a fight with her. - Repeatedly disintegrate her weapon until it is broken. You'll know it's broken when she stops attacking you. - Paralyze her - Open her inventory and put the Bound Dagger into her inventory. This should cause her to swap to it and unequip Rockshatter, letting you take it. - Equip the full chameleon armor. - Hit her with the super persuasion spell to get out of the fight. And you're done. Easy, yeah?

I don't know if all of this is necessary, it almost certainly isn't, but you'd be surprised at how many parts of this are required. For example, I can confirm that this doesn't work if you reverse-pickpocket the bound dagger before getting into the fight. She won't swap to it even if Rockshatter is completely broken. Additionally, simply going invisible and charming her doesn't seem to work either.

If you don't mind killing her then this is all pointless, but I certainly feel better about this. Really showcases the Bethesda style.
