Approach her behind the watchtower, and she'll be tending to a wounded villager:

"The hearts of Dunmer are as dry as their lands."

Speaking to her if you wish to start the quest from her:

"Are you here to help? There's much to do, but the Dunmer and Argonians aren't even talking to each other!"
Why aren't they talking to each other?
"There's a troubled history between the two races. The Ebonheart Pact can't miraculously smooth over old hatreds.
Even so, with Senie in ruins, you think they'd work together!"
What can I do to help?
"A lot of townfolk were burned by lava. Soft-Scale can make a burn salve, but it requires shalk chitin.
You'll need to kill shalks and take their chitin to him at the temple. He'll know what to do with it."
Not a problem.

If you continue to talk to her, she'll say:

"Shalk are all over town. Collect their chitin and bring it to Soft-Scale."
Why are the Dunmer and Argonians arguing?
"Bad blood. I thought everyone knew that.
Back before the Ebonheart Pact was formed, Dark Elves enslaved Argonians. They raided the Black Marsh and brought the captives up here to work."
The Argonians must still resent that.
"Sure, but the bigger problem is the Dunmer. They used to be lords and masters until the Pact was formed.
Now all of a sudden, the Argonians are free and everyone is equal."
So the former slaveholders are having trouble adjusting.
"Ha! Spoken like a courtier. You know, just saying everyone is friends doesn't make it so.
Forming the Pact was a battle, and there are still many sides to it."

If you speak to her after collecting the chitin, but before speaking to Soft-Scale, she'll ask:

"Ah, do you have what Soft-Scale needs? He's in the temple."

If you speak to her after you got the salve:

"I hope Soft-Scale's balm worked.
Now if only the Dunmer and Argonians worked together. There's too much to do here."

Speak to her after speaking to Walks-in-Ash for the first time, and she'll comment:

"Girvas blames the Argonians for taking his daughter? What would that accomplish?
Make this right, traveler."

Once Morvani is rescued and you complete the quest with Girvas, Aeridi will remark:

"Missing daughters and erupting volcanoes? This town has seen far too much excitement if you ask this Nord."
