When you talk to Cimbar during this quest, he will say one of the following lines:
- "Welcome to the family, Initiate! Once you figure out your place here, I'm sure you'll do fine. Just don't try to encroach on Mirabelle's area of expertise. We don't need more than one spy and infiltrator in our Sanctuary, understand?"
- "I've got more bounties on my head than anyone else in the Sanctuary! It's not that I get caught in the act of killing, Night Mother forbid! It's just that I appreciate a good challenge, so I let a witness notice me every so often."
- "Isn't Mirabelle amazing? She's beautiful, excellent at what she does, and she isn't afraid to say exactly what's on her mind. Next to murdering insects for the Night Mother, she's my favorite thing in the whole world!"

Mirabelle, Cimbar and Green-Venom-Tongue can be found in the first chamber of the sanctuary, discussing the two recent murdered Brotherhood assassins:
- Mirabelle Motierre: "I'll mist Durisa's overconfidence. But Van ... he was barely here. Where was he from?"
- Cimbar: "Bruma, I think?"
- Green-Venom-Tongue: "According to my notes, Van was from Glenumbra. He lived in Bruma for a few years prior to the Alliance War."
- Cimbar: "You recorded all that about a Brother we knew for less than a month?"
- Green-Venom-Tongue: "You didn't?"

During the quest A Lesson in Silence, you will learn that Cimbar was assigned with killing the Grand Sermonizer of Akatosh. When you and Tanek infiltrate the Grand Sermonizer's estate, you will find that Cimbar has been caught and tortured to death by the Sermonizer.
