Quest-Related EventsEdit
When approaching him:
- "There are many people in Leyawiin who need your help. I have a job for you, if you're interested."
When you talk to him when he has a quest available, he will say the following:
- "Ah, hello, adventurer! I have need of someone with your kind of mettle. It's dangerous work, but there is a reward if you're so inclined. What do you say?"
- "There are many people in Leyawiin who need help. I have a job for you, if you are interested."
- "You look like you can handle yourself. Care to explore a bit of Blackwood and make some gold along the way? I have a job for you."
- "I need hardy adventurers to assist me in helping the city of Leyawiin. I am willing to pay, if you can complete the task at hand."
- "I could use your help, if you have the time. Your talents might be perfect for a job I need done."
You can ask about what work needs to be done:
- What sorts of things do you need done?
- "All kinds of things! I specialize in work that a single adventurer could accomplish, given enough mettle. Beyond that, it merely depends on what the people of Leyawiin ask of me."
You can ask if he has any work available:
- What do you need?
- What have you got for me?
- What's the job?
He will say the following when you accept his quest:
- "Be careful out there, friend. More than one adventurer has underestimated the dangers of Blackwood."
- "I look forward to your safe return. Please, speak to me as soon as you complete your task."
- "I wish I could offer you some guidance on the task at hand, but aside from what I have already told you, I know little else. Good luck to you!"
When you return from completing the quest objective:
- "Ah! I was just wondering when I would see you next. I hope everything went well. What can you tell me?"
- "I hoped to see you again soon and here you are. I assume you completed your task successfully?"
- "You have returned. What news do you have for me?"
- "It is good to see you again, my friend. Were you successful in the task I gave to you?"
After completing his daily quest, he will ask you to wait until he has another for you:
- "I apologize, I do not have anything new for you. I will speak to my friends around Leyawiin and have more work for you soon, I promise."
- "I do not have any other work that needs doing at the moment, but I am sure I will need your services again. Seek me out later."
- "I doubt I will have anything more for you until I speak with my clients, but I will be sure to let you know when I do.
Be safe out there."
A Proper BlessingEdit
When you approach him, he will say:
- "Would you care to help a friend receive a blessing?"
You can then interact with him, which he will then say:
- "My good friend Leric Phirrienele has been having such bad luck of late. He is in desperate need of a blessing, but he detests anything that smells of religion.
I need someone he will not suspect to surprise him with a proper Argonian blessing." - How do I surprise him with a proper Argonian blessing?
- "I need someone to venture into the ruins of Vunalk and gather toxicodor petals, bog dog dung, and death hopper bile. Mix all those into a solution and use it to bless Leric. That should change his luck from bad to good.
I will pay, of course." - I'll gather the ingredients and give Leric a bath.
After agreeing to help, you can ask some questions:
- How are these items going to help Leric's luck improve?
- "Ah, I thought you might ask. These are the components for a traditional Argonian blessing. Gather and mix them together, then douse Leric with the concoction. Argonian niss'wo have been prescribing this to combat bad luck since the first egg hatched."
If you talk to Deetum after collecting the ingredients for the mixture from Vunalk:
- I have all the ingredients for the blessing solution.
- "Well done. Head over to the well nearby. You will find a bucket you can use to mix the blessing solution."
If you return to Deetum after creating the Blessing Solution from the ingredients, but before using it on Leric:
- I made the blessing solution.
- "Good, but what are you doing over here then? Go splash it on Leric before it loses its potency!"
When you complete the task:
- I gave Leric his blessing.
- "Wonderful, I knew I could count on you. Now Leric's bad luck is sure to change. You have my deepest thanks.
Here is your payment, your efforts are appreciated."
Beauty Amid DangerEdit
When you approach him, he will say:
- "Can you write legibly in the face of danger? Want to get paid for it? Come speak with me!"
You can then interact with him, which he will then say:
- "Have you heard of Brittia Palenix? She's a brilliant local poet who is always looking for new sources of inspiration.
Apparently, she has heard rumors of a strange Daedric ruin that could be a potential source of material for her!" - What does she need help with?
- "The ruins are likely dangerous, and I understand she is not much of a fighter. She asks that someone venture inside for her and take notes on what they observe. Nothing exhaustive, just a brief account.
I'll mark the ruin on your map for you." - I'll venture inside the Daedric ruin and take notes for the poet.
You can then ask him some questions:
- Why does this poet want inspiration from a Daedric ruin?
- "I am no writer, so I could not say. I imagine the mystery of such a place would be intriguing to some. Mostly, Daedric ruins tend to inspire fear within me, but perhaps our dear poet is different."
When you complete the task:
- I have the notes from the Daedric ruin.
- "I am glad you made it back in one piece. It would be a shame to die for a poem that is not even written yet.
Here is your payment, your efforts are appreciated."
Breaking the ChainEdit
When you approach him, he will say:
- "Xi-Tsei. If your path leads to that nest of stone, stranger, I have a request to make of you."
You can then interact with him, which he will then say:
- "Word has come to Leyawiin of dark deeds taking place in Xi-Tsei. Apparently, a group of Naga extremists called the Sul-Xan are capturing and sacrificing people there.
My client, Nalulie, came to me with the news and asked for help." - What kind of help?
- "Nalulie said she had an idea about how to weaken the group by destroying some of their ritual tools, but she herself is not much of a fighter. She is willing to pay whoever can do the job for her.
If you're interested, she is waiting by the docks." - I'll find her and help destroy the ritual tools.
You can question him some more:
- What do you know about the Sul-Xan?
- "Not a great deal. They are comprised of Naga, who are generally meaner and more frightening than your average Argonian, much like myself.
I hear they worship chaos and are incredibly violent … which is no great surprise."
When you complete the task:
- I destroyed all the ritual tools.
- "Excellent. I had a feeling you would be successful.
You likely saved a lot of lives by dealing the Sul-Xan such a blow. I wish I could offer you more, but I hope this will be sufficient. Here, your reward."
Conflict of InterestEdit
When you approach him, he will say:
- "If you have opinions about crows, I have got a job for you."
You can then interact with him, which he will then say:
- "I have two clients with competing requests … about crow eggs from Arpenia.
Allereth wants the crow eggs saved, while Rugrol wants them destroyed. Both are willing to pay, but I suppose the decision is up to whoever takes the job." - What's so important about crow eggs?
- "It seems that these crows in particular are, or were, involved with Nocturnal somehow. Very mysterious. If you are curious, you can find Rugrol in the chapel, and Allereth in the cemetery next to it.
If not, head over to Arpenia and find those eggs." - Understood.
You can then ask for more information:
- You said these crows have some connection to Nocturnal?
- "Yes, both clients emphasized this.
I do not know if all crows are servants of Nocturnal, but these in particular were of special interest. Something about Arpenia itself makes it so, but you would have to ask them for more specifics."
If you gave the eggs to Allereth:
- I chose to gave the eggs to Allereth.
- "Oh, good. She frightens me a little. I am glad you decided to go with her instead. Well done, at any rate. I will be sure to seek you out again if those two need you to go egg hunting once more.
Here is your payment, your efforts are appreciated."
If you gave them to Rugrol:
- I gave the eggs to Rugrol to destroy.
- "I am sure he was pleased. I have no personal stake in the matter, so I assume you did what you thought was best. I will be sure to seek you out again if those two need you to go egg hunting once more.
Here is your payment, thank you for your work."
Insect SaviorEdit
When you approach him, he will say:
- "Fancy yourself a friend to all bugs? I know some that need your help!"
You can then interact with him, which he will then say:
- "A local bug lover is deathly worried that the eventual flooding of Undertow Cavern will wipe out the rare species of torchbug that resides there. She will pay for someone to rescue them from their watery fate."
- So this is a bug catching job?
- "Fun, right? I would advise caution, of course. Undertow Cavern is not the safest place. Which is why the client did not think she could go herself.
If you would like to speak to her before you head out, she should still be in the alleyway nearby." - I'll go to Undertow Cavern and catch the torchbugs.
You can then ask him some questions:
- Is Undertow Cavern really in danger of flooding?
- "I am not sure. If it is, I am sure it will not be for a good long while. But our bug enthusiast is much too concerned about the creatures inside to take that chance.
Better to get ahead of the problem rather than wait for the worst to come, yes?"
When you complete the task:
- I saved the torchbugs from Undertow Cavern.
- "Wonderful. I am sure Olith will be here to pick these little ones up shortly, but in the meantime I will make sure they receive excellent care.
Here is your payment, thank you for your work."
Shadow TacticsEdit
When you approach him, he will say:
- "Does crawling around creepy caves sound like your idea of a good time? Then I have a job for you!"
You can then interact with him, which he will then say:
- "My client heard rumors of some ancient caches that have surfaced in Bloodrun Cave containing some … unsavory documents concerning the Morag Tong. Documents they'd prefer to keep far in the past, as I understand it."
- What needs to be done?
- "Faves Anthones just wants the documents destroyed. It should be easy enough work, so long as you make it past the crawlies inside Bloodrun Cave. I marked the likely places for the caches on your map.
If you want to talk to Faves Anthones directly, he's in town." - I'll go to Bloodrun Cave and destroy the Morag Tong documents.
You can ask him more questions
- Is Faves Anthones part of the Morag Tong?
- "It seems likely, yes. I was not about to ask him myself, of course. My clients' business is their own. It usually works out better for me that way.
If you feel like asking him, be my guest. Just … do not tell him I said any of this."
After completing the task:
- I destroyed the Morag Tong documents.
- "Good work. The less questions we ask about this one, the better, I am sure.
Here, your reward."
