Quest-Related EventsEdit

If you haven't started the quest yet:

"Marunji has nothing to offer you at this moment, walker.
You will keep an eye on the floor for this one's candied grape, though, yes? It fell from Marunji's muffin and rolled…somewhere. It is still fine to eat!"

You can ask him some questions:

Tell me about the daily challenges you offer.
"Marunji offers challenges for adventurers like you to play against each other. The more matches a Roister wins against their peers, the greater the reward!
Kishka's challenges set you against common folk. Do not take them for granted, though!"
You and Kishka are siblings?
"Kishka is this one's big sister, yes. She orders Marunji around constantly—and not even for tasks that demand this one's great size! Just silly things she is too lazy to handle herself.
By Jone and Jode, it is so annoying!"
Do you ever push back?
"You jest, right?
Kishka seems like a silly ja'khajiit, yes, but when she gets angry? Ziss'vo. She is like little Merrunz—all hissing and flailing and biting. You would be scared too, I think!"

Marunji and Kishka

A New VentureEdit

After winning your first real match, Sorinne will tell you meet Kishka. When you go downstairs, Kishka is scolding Marunji:

Kishka the Broker: "Ziss'vo! Kishka brought you here to help proffer Tribute challenges, little brother, not sit around mewling about lost biscuits!"
Marunji the Broker: "They were muffins, sister! And they were very expensive!"

Dueling TributesEdit

When his daily quest is available:

"Marunji is ready to offer any willing Roister their daily challenge.
This is why you speak to him, yes? Because if it regards Marunji's fire-dumplings, he will not share them!"
"Nothing beats a full belly…aside from this challenge!
Marunji jests, of course. No challenge is better than a tummy full of sweet-blossom truffles!"
"Marunji hears stories about adventurers thumping each other over the head in Cyrodiil. Is it not better to thump other adventurers with cards? Take this challenge, for instance.
It is gentler on the claws and leaves more time to eating!"
"Defeating commoners in Tribute is good, but defeating adventurers is even better, yes?
Take this challenge! Marunji is right—you will see!"
I'm interested in the daily challenge.
"Good! You should seek out your fellow adventurers and challenge them to see who has the finest cards and sharpest mind. With every victory, your prize will grow!
Just be careful not to play while eating powderbites. The dust—it gets everywhere!"
I accept the challenge.

While your daily quest is active:

"You have matches to win, walker. The only thing you will find here is big sister Kishka, refusing to admit she stole Marunji's jar of sugared violets from the larder.
Just look at her! She is like the terror bird who swallowed the senche, yes?"
Won one match:
Won two matches:
Won three matches:
"So, you return to Marunji instead of pursuing another victory? Hmm.
If you wish to settle for a lesser prize, walker, that is your choice. Just remember, you can earn greater rewards if you win more matches!"
I'd like to collect my reward.
"Very well! A single sugar-tart is better than no tarts at all, yes?
Here it is. Enjoy your reward, walker."
"You won two victories, yes? Well played, walker!
Are you sure you do not wish to win just one more match, though? You can earn a greater reward if you do. The choice is yours, of course."
I'd like to collect my reward.
"This one is impressed! Winning back to back games? It is like eating twenty bowls of cane-honey custard in one sitting. Easy for Marunji, yes, but hard for everyone else.
Congratulations, walker!"
"Marunji thinks you return to him flush with victories! He recognizes the swagger of the victorious Roister. It is much like the walk of one who has just eaten the most delicious honeycomb!"
I'm here for my reward.
"Very good! This came from sister-Kishka's fancy-crate. Even I am not allowed to look in the fancy-crate!
Of course, you earn more than a sumptuous prize. Your rank grows, too! Well done!"

NotesEdit

  • He used to be called "Marunji the Broker".
