Find the corpse of Cipher Nelfynn, which appears in several locations mostly around the north of Apocrypha. There is a note by it, reading this note starts the quest: Nelfynn has stolen Volume 3 of the Numinous Grimoire and taken it to Fathoms Drift (a delve on the northeast coast). You will need to go there and recover the volume: it's in a sack at ground level, in the northwest region of the delve.
The easiest location to find Cipher Nelfynn's Note to start the quest is by the body NW of Chthon Plaza world boss.

- The body with the note which starts this quest off appears in multiple locations, although in the same general region (northern Apocrypha).
- Unlike the other two volumes of the Numinous Grimoire, this one requires you to actually go and look for the volume: the dead person does not have it in their backpack.
