Detailed WalkthroughEdit
Head to the Bounty Board which is located at the Trader's Circle in Kvatch, just outside the bank. A new message on the board announces,
- "WANTED: Experienced warriors to thrill our spectators with their martial prowess!
- Are you an experienced mercenary or gladiator looking to make a name for yourself? Prove your prowess by raving the gauntlet of the Kvatch Arena!
- A substantial victory purse is on the line. Those who are up to the challenge need simply enter the arena during any of our regular events, or speak to Arena Master Codus at the Kvatch Arena.
- Make no mistake. This fight is to the death!"
Head to the arena, which is located in the northern part of the city. Since the encounter is considered a world boss, similar to those in Wrothgar, you might need to wait for the respawn before you can begin the fight. Additionally, you can speak to Arena Master Codus ap Dugal, who is found on the upstairs spectator area. He greets you by saying, "You want tickets, talk to the front counter. You want a refund, go jump in the sea. All sales are final."
- I want to face your best gladiator in the arena.
- "Oh, do you now? Look, if I don't know you, you aren't worth knowing.
You want to earn a name worthy of being on the same card as one of our champions, get in the pit and start drawing in some crowds!"- That's it? I don't have to sign anything?
- "Find yourself in that pit and your life is property of this arena until you claw your way out. Manage that and there's a hefty purse waiting on the other side.
That's the contract in full. Don't expect me to waste paper to put it in writing."- What should I expect once I'm inside?
- "You'll face whatever I can pull together for the day's events, and even I don't often know what that'll be much in advance. Criminals, heretics, wild beasts. If you can't roll with the punches, at least leap to your grave. The crowd loves that."
- Your name sounds familiar. Any relation to Fortunata ap Dugal?
- "My sister and I were estranged long before she tumbled drunk off her balcony and went splat on the ground. (if you have completed A Special Request)
- This is my arena. I set the fights and make the rules. If you've got a problem with that, you can direct your complaints to the nearest bear."
Inside the arena, you will first meet groups of shackled gladiators who fight with each other and will not notice you unless you interfere. After the gladiators are dealt with, you will need to survive several waves of gladiators and a Champion of the Kvatch Arena. The fight does not end there - you also need to defeat numerous Order of the Hour warriors, and finally, Commander Panthius.
When you have survived the whole encounter, return to Codus ap Dugal. He is impressed, saying, "Akatosh take me, I did not see that coming! You've got a future in this bloody work, mark my words."
- I'm here to claim my reward.
- "And a well-earned reward it is! I haven't seen a beating that brutal since the Spear Sisters bested the Iron Lion in nothing but their smallclothes.
Here's the victory purse. I suggest you live a little before your next dance with death!"

- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
