Spiders are large arachnids which will attack you on sight. They can be found in the overworld and in various different caves, for example Earthtear Caverns. Their lairs are covered with spider webs, often with the inhabitants and the remains of their prey not that far away. There are multiple different types of spiders in Shadowkey, as listed below. All types of spider except for the Diamond Spider Queen have a 10% chance to drop a Spider Heart as loot. If you are finding it difficult fighting spiders on your adventures in Shadowkey, you may wish to pick up the Spider Impaler longblade in the northwest of Earthtear Caverns, which deals an extra 4 - 22 damage against spiders.

The Diamond Spider Queen is a large boss spider in the northeast of Earthtear Caverns, just north of the entrance to the Earthtear Caverns Shadowgate. It is distinguishable from other spider types due to its increased size and unique dark blue appearance.
It guards a chest containing the Spider's Shadowkey, and is fairly hard to defeat for low level characters. Much like other spiders, it can be more easily defeated by keeping a safe distance and using a ranged spell against it.
If you are using a character that does not have access to magic, it is advisable to stock up on health potions and use a ranged weapon, or make quick jabs towards it using a melee weapon (such as the Spider Impaler longblade) before it is able to attack you.
NotesEdit
- It may have been originally intended for the Diamond Spider Queen to be blind, due to an unused script in the game files.
