The Private Gardens

Private Gardens is a garden in the New Sheoth Palace owned by the ruler of the House of Dementia.

Unlike its manic counterpart, the Halcyon Conservatory, the Private Gardens are always deserted apart from Dark Seducer guards who patrol them ceaselessly, and, as the name suggests, are not open to the public. None of the members of the House of Dementia ever visit.

A total of 52 drab and depressing plants grow here:

Two doors lead into the House of Dementia and one leads to the Duchess' Quarters. There is also a hidden escape tunnel leading to Xirethard.

BugsEdit

  • If you don't replace Syl as the Duchess of Dementia, and if you enter the Private Gardens via Xirethard, you will be stuck in the Private Gardens.
    • Reload a previous save.
    • If you have completed The Prince of Madness quest and received the spell Sheogorath's Protection, you can escape by summoning a creature, goading it to attack you, casting the spell, and letting the creature kill you.
    • If you can jump out of the enclosed area (e.g., high Acrobatics skill or the floating paintbrushes glitch) then it is possible to activate the ladder underneath the Bust of Sheogorath from the other side of the wall.
  • After entering this location, all markers on the map will be gone until you leave Palace by entering Palace Ground or general SI worldspace.
