Quick WalkthroughEdit

  1. Talk to an innkeeper
  2. Read the Letter from Shogarz gro-Batul
  3. Eliminate the bandits in Lost Knife Hideout
  4. Retrieve the Headman's Cleaver

Detailed WalkthroughEdit

Talking to any innkeeper will give you this quest. They will hand you a letter that explains that remnants of a group of bandits called the Greencap Bandits have stolen the Headman's Cleaver of the Bloodfall Kingdom. The Bloodfall Queen wants vengeance and will grant the Headman's Cleaver to whoever eliminates the Greencap Bandits.

Once you have read the letter, travel to Lost Knife Hideout. There are two parts to the cave system - Lost Knife Cave and Lost Knife Hideout. In Lost Knife Cave, there will be several Greencap Bandits you will have to fight to find the entrance to Lost Knife Hideout. You will have to defeat more Greencap Bandits inside, until you reach the area with cages. This is where the thief, known as the 'Darkwater Snake', will be located, as well as several Greencap Bandits. Defeat the Darkwater Snake and loot his body for the stolen cleaver, as well as a full set of unenchanted Orcish armor. Shogarz gro-Batul's dead body will be lying in another cage, and looting him will give you Shogarz's Journal. Urzog's Journal will also be sitting on one of the tables.

BugsEdit

  • It is possible that the letter by Shorgarz gro-Batul doesn't appear in the player's inventory after getting the quest. ?
    • A workaround is either to setstage ccBGSSSSE068_Quest 30 or player.additem FExxx801 1

Notes
  • Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the Radiant Quest system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
  • If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
  • On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering setstage ccBGSSSE068_Quest stage, where stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages, but it is possible to clear all stages of the quest using resetquest ccBGSSSE068_Quest.
