Detailed WalkthroughEdit
The Pit DungeonEdit
After you choose the power option during A Dying Wish you will then pass out and awake in a dungeon only wearing ragged robes and ragged boots. Exit the cell and you can explore the hallway and other cells, one cell has a dead hunter in it and another has a dead Thalmor soldier with a full set of Elven light armor. You can also pickup a set of iron armor and a health potion on the table in the main hallway.
The PitEdit
As you enter the arena, you will have to fight a Pit Fighter and a wolf. Once they have been killed, the two sabre cats will be released from their cages and you will have to kill them. The pit champion, Neski Skull-Sabre will then enter the arena, kill her and you can then loot her body for the Bittercup, Grand Champion's Sword, and the Grand Champion's Helm. She also carries the note On the Bittercup.
There is a large number of dead bodies laying about the pit, these are; a Breton, hunter, reaver, master vampire, Khajiit, Wood Elf, and the corpse of an Imperial soldier. There are also two skeletons that can be looted as well.
Watchtower BarracksEdit
You will then have to pull the lever next to the door in order to enter the Watchtower Barracks. Climb the stairs and you will have to enter the room on the left in order to kill the Pit Boss and the two Pit Bandits. Loot the pit boss for the pit key, which can be used to retrieve your belongings from the chest in the previous room with an iron door. There is also a note next to the chest, with a flawless diamond, amethyst and an emerald on top of it.
You can then unlock the door to Skyrim, where you will be near the Falkreath Watchtower. The quest will then be complete.
NotesEdit
- In the Pit, most attacks can be avoided by jumping on top of the hay stacks, especially while battling Neski.
- In the Pit, there are two hay bales piled near a cage jumping behind the bales you will be between the bales and the wall. Enemies won't be able to reach you but you can still hit them.
- It is possible to use the Ritual Stone to reanimate the dead bodies. At lower levels, this will make the fight significantly easier.
- Stealing the Ebony Blade before the quest is activated via platter clipping will keep it in your inventory, allowing a powerful chargeless absorb health weapon into the pit.

- Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g.,
<Alias=LocationHold>
) is dynamically set by the Radiant Quest system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game. - Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
- If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
- On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering
