Valkyn Gatanas is one of the main antagonists of The Cause Creation. He and Valkyn Methats are to serve as heralds for the coming of Mehrunes Dagon. The artifact Scourge can be found on his body after his final demise, as well as a pair of Daedric Gauntlets of Negation that allowed him to wield it.

- Gatanas previously appeared in Battlespire.
- Prior to Patch 1.6.629, Gatanas did not possess the Daedric Gauntlets of Negation. This item was added in an update to the Creation to explain his ability to wield Scourge despite being a Daedra, though this was unnecessary as Daedra are only banished upon using Scourge's keyword 'Equality.'
