The distinguished Jarl Laila Law-Giver holds rulership over The Rift.
As her title suggests, she is a woman possessed of morals most upstanding. This should make it all the easier to find some kind of mistake or blunder we can use to sway her opinion of the East Empire.
Or if you'd prefer something a little less underhanded, I'm sure someone in her position has messes that need cleaning up.
