Detailed WalkthroughEdit

A Depressed AccountantEdit

Master Mithras' first task for you is to talk to the mine's accountant, a noble called Azariah Thelas, and help him out in whatever needs doing. Thelas lives in a house on the east side of town, not far from the Mine Office. He bluntly lays out the problems of the mine: reduced income, unhappy workers and no slaves, and he has decided to send this week's wages a little early to try to boost morale. He hands you 1000 gold and asks you to take it to Mirisun Varen at the mine office.

Problems in the MineEdit

The mine office is just south of Thelas' house, and Mirisun Varen will gratefully take the money off your hands. Since you're now working for Mithras, he also asks you to do him a favor: go and talk to the miners and find out what their problems are. He believes they have been acting strangely recently and hopes you'll have better luck in finding out why.

Ask anyone in the mine and the nature of their problems becomes clear. They have been working non-stop for months but profit has been decreasing. They believe Mirisun Varen and Azariah Thelas have a scheme to steal ebony from the mine, getting miners to work overtime then stealing as much as they can before fiddling the books to make everything look normal.

Pick and ChooseEdit

Return to Thelas, who will dismiss the miners as ingrates. He has another task for you, however. The pickaxes in the mine are wearing out and he wants you to order some new ones from Kobin Delas. Delas' store is just north of Azariah Thelas' house and he tells you that he should have another shipment in two days. Return to Thelas again. He will thank you and tell you that Master Mithras is looking for you again. Return to him for your next task.

Index Finishes Quest Journal Entry
10 Master Mithras told me that my first task would be to speak to Azariah Thelas, noble and accountant of the ebony mine, and aid him in whatever manner was necessary.
20 I spoke to Azariah Thelas, who gave me some money for the workers at the mine, as their latest payment. I should give the money to Mirisun Varen, the man in charge of the mine.
30 Mirisun thanked me for the worker's wages, and urged me to speak to the miners, and see what their problems are. Apparently they have been refusing to engage in conversation with him lately.
40 A miner told me that they believed that Mirisun Varen and Azariah Thelas have a big plot going on together, to steal ebony from the mine. They think that Mirisun is working them over-time in order to produce more ebony than is necessary, so that he and Azariah can skim some off the top. Azariah, they say, is then fiddling the figures to make it seem like nothing is amiss.
50 I reported the miner's suspicions to Azariah Thelas, who seemed uninterested. He gave me another chore to do: order a shipment of pickaxes from Kobin Delas, a local merchant, to replace the currently wearing out ones at the mine.
60 Kobin Delas told me that the shipment of pickaxes should be with him in the next two days.
70 Finishes quest  Azariah thanked me for placing the order, and told me Master Mithras had requested to see me.
