        2. Return to Gaelrin (rewards 200 gold + Scroll of Invisibility).
      • Or:
        1. Defeat Merona and take her gold.
        2. Return to Gaelrin (rewards 200 gold).
      • Or:

    • Or seek the aid of the Hlaalu.
      1. Ask around Hlaalu representatives (e.g. guards).
      2. Bring the matter to Sodreru Hlaalu at the Sixth Family Manor.
      3. Persuade Sodreru to intervene by either:
        • Being House Father of House Hlaalu.
        • Having 70+ disposition and warning her that the Tong's actions may discourage trade.
      4. Return to Gaelrin (rewards 300 gold, 2x Scroll of Invisibility).

Detailed WalkthroughEdit

You'll find a Wood Elf named Gaelrin manning a stall outside the Narsis Bazaar. He's recently been swindled by the Camonna Tong. You can offer to help him retrieve the money, in which case he'll direct you to the thug who robbed him, Merona Thirith, in the Market Quarter's sewers (see Talks with the Tong below). Your other alternative is to go to the Hlaalu (see Appealing to the Hlaalu below).

Talks with the TongEdit

Merona Thirith is in the Market Quarter Tunnels (accessible from the Grand Bazaar or the eastern Market Quarter sewers). Talk to her. She's impressed that you found her - and promises to give the gold back if you beat up Gaelrin.

If you have 85+ disposition with Merona, you can simply demand the gold back at this point and she will comply - return to Gaelrin in this case for 200 gold and a Scroll of Invisibility. Otherwise, you'll either need to kill her (Gaelrun rewards 200 gold for this) or agree to her request.

If you agree to Merona's request, speak with Gaelrin about his swindling and tell him to prepare to fight. You'll then need to lower his health until he surrenders, giving you 50 gold. You'll find that Merona has appeared behind you. Speak to her for 400 gold. You can keep this, or give it to Gaelrin. If you do, he'll grumpily reward you with 100 gold, while expressing his intention to never again ask for your help.

Appealing to the HlaaluEdit

If you speak to the guards in the area about the swindling, they will point you to Sodreru Hlaalu at the Sixth Family Manor. This is in the Market Quarter, south of the Shrine of the Hidden Saints. If you happen to be House Father of House Hlaalu, Sodreru will agree to compensate Gaelrin immediately. Otherwise you'll need a high disposition to convince her, with the amount depending on your argument. The best argument to use is that this sort of thing will discourage trade, as that requires only 70+ disposition for Sodreru to be persuaded. The other two arguments require 80+ (Gaelrin's being targeted) and 90+ disposition (Gaelrin's powerless) respectively.

Return to Gaelrin once Sodreru has agreed to compensate him in order to receive 300 gold and two scrolls of invisibility.
