Detailed WalkthroughEdit
The AmuletEdit
The next task Ratagos gives you is to retrieve the Amulet of Seht's Warding. He claims the amulet was created by Sotha Sil, and has the power to protect its wearer from even the most powerful spells. It has recently fallen into the hands of the Telvanni, and now the Temple wants it back. Ratagos tells you that it can be found in Tel Darys, the tower of Mistress Eldale, who has a fondness for Chimeri relics. He gives you 1200 gold and tells you to obtain the amulet by whatever means necessary.
The JourneyEdit
Tel Darys is the tower of Gah Sadrith, which is a tough journey from Ranyon-ruhn. The quickest route in real time is to take the silt-strider to Tel Ouada, then a waterstrider to Port Telvannis and another waterstrider to Gah Sadrith. Somewhat longer in real time, but quicker in game time is to run to Llothanis then take the waterstrider to Port Telvannis from there. However you get there, head to Tel Darys, which is on the east side of town. Mistress Eldale can be found in the highest part of the Upper Tower, and you will need some form of levitation to reach her.
The DealEdit
The Amulet sits on a copy of the book On Elemental Daedra in Eldale's chambers under the permanent gaze of her Mud Golem servant. Talk to her about the amulet and she will tell you to talk to Ultern, her lieutenant, who can be found nearby.
When you talk to Ultern, you are given the option of paying 750, 1000 or 1500 gold, or offering to exchange it for another Chimeri artifact. The latter option is only viable if you retrieved the Kana-revis sickle from Dadrunibi. If you have it and Ultern's disposition towards you is 75+, he will believe your story that the sickle once belonged to a Chimeri Daedric Priest and exchange it for the amulet. Otherwise, you'll have to pay him for it.
Haggling the price depends on how much Ultern likes you. To get Ultern to accept 750 gold, his disposition must be 90 or more. To get a price of 1000 gold, his disposition must be 75 or over. Even the 1500 gold price requires at least 60 disposition. If you don't meet any of those conditions, theft is the only option.
The ReturnEdit
However you obtain the amulet, return with it to Ranyon-ruhn. Luckily, a simple Almsivi Intervention effect will take you back to the temple, skipping a tortuous return journey. For your reward, you get to keep whatever gold you didn't spend on the amulet, plus you gain five Temple reputation points.
