This quest progresses as you go through the various other quests of the Speakers of the Dead questline. To begin this questline, you will need to be rank of Curate, and have completed the Bloodstone Pilgrimage. Completing the preceding Temple quests in Almas Thirr, starting with Lloris Dalen in the Canalworks Temple, will get you to the required rank. Consult the pages on the individual quests, listed below, for a full walkthrough.
Initiation into the Speakers of the Dead sets the Fight value of generic Ancestor Ghost and Greater Ancestor Ghosts to 30.
The Monastery of St Veloth is on the eastern side of Almas Thirr, over the bridge.
To find Idras Berendus, enter Necrom’s main temple – the first area of which being called ‘Temple Pathway’, and turn immediately left or right to enter the Hall of Contemplation. Idras Berendus can be found in one of the offices in the southeast.
The following Quest_ID and Index codes can be used with the Journal Console command to manually update the quest to a certain point.

I met an Ordinator in Mourning named Vaden Baro in the Almas Thirr Monastery. He stated that I had no business with him until I've proven myself to the Tribunal Temple by rising to the rank of Curate and taking the Bloodstone Pilgrimage.

I have performed the sacred ritual and recieved the title of "Speaker for the Dead". I was instructed to speak with the leader of the Speakers, Uvo Brin.

Uvo Brin explained my new powers and duties as Speaker for the Dead. As an arbiter between the spirit and physical worlds, I must mediate fairly and speak for those who cannot. The incorporeal mark placed upon me will signal to the spirits of Morrowind that I am a Speaker and can be trusted with these matters. I should return to Vaden Baro in Almas Thirr for more sacred tasks.
