Detailed WalkthroughEdit

A resident of Llothanis, Ansuma Veloth, has been made aware of a strange woman asking about him in town. He'll ask you to investigate. Agree, and question Llothanis's citizenry. They will direct you to Erick's Smithy, in town. Speak to Erick inside, and he will direct you to the empty house opposite.

Search the house, dealing with the rats there, and picking up the note beside the hammock. Doing so causes the strange woman, Trena Telteraneth, to appear and interrogate you. Choosing the wrong dialogue options here will initiate combat, in which case reporting her death to Ansuma will result in a reward of 500 gold. Be wary of combat however - she will first try to hit you with paralysis effects, and then blast you with potent fire spells.

If you happen to be a member of the Telvanni council, you can demand that she ends her investigation immediately. In this instance, you can again report to Ansuma for your gold reward.

Otherwise, if seeking to avoid combat, pick the answers that recognise House Telvannis rule over Llothanis, and deny that you have any faith in the Tribunal. She'll ask you to investigate Ansuma for her. You'll need to speak to both him and one neighbor (any local who isn't a guard) before you can return to her. Once you do, she will ask you if Ansuma has been spreading propaganda or not. Lying and saying that he is will result in a reward of 275 gold. Telling the truth and saying that he is not will persuade her to go away. You can then return to Ansuma to complete the quest and receive your reward.

10 An old mer named Ansuma Veloth has told me that a strange woman is asking around Llothanis about him. I have agreed to find her and determine her intentions.
20 I have learned from Erick, the Redguard smithy in Llothanis, that he has seen a strange Dunmer woman near the abandoned house not far from his shop. I should investigate there.
30 The abandoned house in Llothanis appeared empty save for a scrap of paper reading, "...must report the connection to Akamora immediately." As I was turning around I was cornered by Trena Telteraneth, the woman I was searching for. She questioned me sharply, but I managed to answer her well enough to avoid violence. She explained that Ansuma may be spreading Tribunal Temple propaganda and such things are not welcome in Llothanis. She wants me to investigate the matter and report back to her.
31 The abandoned house in Llothanis appeared empty save for a scrap of paper reading, "...must report the connection to Akamora immediately." As I was turning around I was cornered by Trena Telteraneth, the woman I was searching for. She recognized me as a fellow Telvanni and explained that she is a retainer of Master Vaerin, charged with investigating those responsible for spreading Temple propaganda in Telvanni lands. She has asked that I investigate Ansuma as such a mer and report back to her.
32 The abandoned house in Llothanis appeared empty save for a scrap of paper reading, "...must report the connection to Akamora immediately." As I was turning around I was cornered by Trena Telteraneth, the woman I was searching for. She questioned me sharply, and I was unable to supply satisfactory responses and violence ensued.
40 Ansuma has told me that he is devout to the Tribunal but has never spread propaganda since retiring as an Ordinator over 30 years ago and leaving Vivec. He claims to only want to spend what remains of his life with his wife, Gona. He confirmed having been born in Akamora, a House Indoril town to the south. He claims to have settled in Llothanis because Gona is a native of the town. He has asked that I convince Trena he is not spreading propaganda so that she will leave.
41 Ansuma appears to be well thought of by his neighbors in Llothanis. I've been informed that while they know he is devout in his devotion to the Tribunal, he has never tried to spread Temple propaganda or even so much as encouraged others to join him in his annual pilgrimage to Necrom.
50 I have told Trena Telteraneth that there is no evidence that Ansuma is spreading Temple propaganda. She seemed disappointed by this answer but said she will move on to her next suspect. I should report that she has gone.
51 As a member of the Telvanni Council, I reminded Trena Telteraneth that Master Vaerin is the lord of Alt Bosara, not Llothanis. I asked her to leave Ansuma and Gona in peace and politely explained the consequences of failing to honor my wishes. Needless to say Trena will not be pursuing the matter further and will leave Llothanis immediately. I should inform Ansuma of this turn of events.
100 Finishes quest  Ansuma has thanked me for dealing with Trena's inquiry. He offered to pay me for my assistance, but I declined as the task was easily dealt with.
101 Finishes quest  Ansuma has thanked me for dealing with Trena's inquiry, and he has paid me almost 500 gold pieces for my assistance.
102 Finishes quest  I told Ansuma that I had lied to Trena Telteraneth, and that she now believed he was spreading Temple propoganda. He attacked me.
200 I have lied to Trena Telteraneth, informing her that Ansuma is spreading Temple propaganda. She thanked me and paid a small sum of gold for the information. She said she must report to Alt Bosara immediately. I suppose as she has gone, I can expect Ansuma to reward me as well.
210 I have slain Trena Telteraneth.
300 Finishes quest  I have discovered the bodies of Ansuma and Gona Veloth in their house in Llothanis. Apparently my lie to Trena Telteraneth has believed.
310 Finishes quest  I have discovered the bodies of Ansuma and Gona Veloth in their house in Llothanis. Apparently slaying Trena Telteraneth did not serve to protect the Veloth family. Perhaps her death was read as confirmation of Ansuma's guilt?
