Detailed WalkthroughEdit
Buoyed by your recent successes, Thorleif Stage-Hand now asks you to rob the Measurehall's vault, looking for the Ring of the Second Family. He gives you little other information. Aliah Saryni nearby has a little more - she names individuals who might carry keys to the vault, such as Thelama Salandys (in the Measurehall's Bailiff's Tower) and Ereven Peronys (in its Vizier's Tower). She suspects that somebody close to Athires Hlaalu may have one too - as it happens, this is his daughter, Saritha Hlaalu, in the Second Family Manor. The only other key bearer is Alvynu Llervas in the Measurehall's Petitioner's Hall area. You'll likely want to pickpocket at least some of these people (Saritha is best) if you don't fancy busting lots of very high level locks.
Once prepared with the means of bypassing locks and (many) guards, enter the Measurehall. It's in Narsis' Council Quarter. Go from the main Measurehall area into the Lower Hall area, and from there into the Hlaalu Council Company Reserve Bank area. The entrance to the Upper Vault is here. Enter, and make your way to the Lower Vault area. You'll find the Ring of the Second Family in the lower vault's southernmost room, upon an Ebony Plate. Take it (expect surprise ghosts) and bring it back to Thorleif. He'll give you the option of keeping the ring or of accepting 10,000 gold for it. He's not too bothered to have it either way as he says the heist was mainly to remind the Hlaalu that they aren't invincible.
Thorleif's questline is now complete. The man himself mulls over his next move - considering a trip to Thorn - and you are free to ply your thieving trade elsewhere.
NotesEdit
- This heist is easier if you have at least House Cousin rank in House Hlaalu, as guards will not worry about your presence in the vaults. Bargrazh gro-Sharob will still prevent your ingress into the final chamber of the Lower Vault however (unless you are Grandmaster in the house).
