BuildingEdit

I have a strong interest in building content for Skyrim (PC), so I can't wait for the builder to be released. Got on board a bit late for the earlier titles so I've been doing other things in the meantime.

Generic PrattleEdit

Will fill this in after getting the more specific prattle out of the way.

SidekicksEdit

Lydia : Sworn to carry my burden. Driven to complain about it. A decent follower, pretty durable and does some damage, but a bit of a whiner. Her heart didn't seem to be in adventuring. Sent her back to Whiterun and was rewarded with a present the next time I saw her. Guess she's a housecarl with the emphasis on house, just can't seem to find casual wear with better stats then her steel plate. So for the time being she'll just have to clank around Whiterun in heavy armor. Hopefully, she can put in a good word for me with the Jarl now and then.

Maurice Jondrelle : Pestered me about going to Eldergleam Sanctuary with me. Like a fool I said yes. Then the dragon....Maurice took flight, so did the dragon. The dragon came back for a snack. I avenged you good buddy.

Meeko : Very loyal, friendly and helpful. An adventurer's best friend for sure. Unfortunately, Meeko is highly flammable. Reloaded about 10 times after roasting the poor dog, then headed back to his shack. Dragged the frozen Nord out to the woods and cleaned the place up. Not a bad location really, very scenic. Meeko wasn't too happy about staying home, but it's for the best. Certainly better than having your tail constantly smoldering. I drop in occasionally, just to make sure he's ok.

Derkeethus : "To Oblivion and back as they say." Very good attitude, always has my back. Doesn't go out of his way trying to get killed. Keeps the adds off me. Overall a very good sidekick. If things get really bad I turn tail and run hide behind him, lobbing the occasional fireball and cheering him on. Hey...I'm a mage ... don't expect me to go toe-to-toe with every last Testosterone Laden Nord Barbarian Wannabe in Skyrim.

Magicka Regeneration NotesEdit

The base rate of magic regeneration is 3% per second. Some equations for the regen are these:

BaseRegenPerSecond = TotalMagicka * BaseRegenRate = TotalMagicka * 0.03 is the Magicka regenerated per second.

The effects of enchantments and perks that modify regeneration alter the regeneration rate. The regeneration rate is then: (0.03 * (1 + Enchantments + Perks))

TotalRegenPerSecond = TotalMagicka * (0.03 * (1+ Enhancements + Perks)) is the total regeneration per second.

So for example if wearing an enchantment for 50% regeneration increase and a perk for 50% increase the equation would be

TotalRegenPerSecond = TotalMagicka * (0.03 * (1 + 0.5 + 0.5)) = TotalMagicka * 0.06

The time required to regenerate all Magicka from 0 is: 1 / RegenRate

TimeTotal = 1 / (0.03 * (1 + Enchantments + Perks))

With no enhancements or Perks the time is: 1 / 0.03 = 33.333 seconds.

In combat regeneration takes 3 times as long. The regeneration rate is 1/3 of the out of combat rate. The total time is 100 seconds.

Perks+Enchantments Rate Multiplier (1+Enhancements+Perks) Regen Rate Regen Time Combat Regen Time
0 1 0.03 33.33 100.00
0.5 1.5 0.045 22.22 66.67
1.0 2 0.06 16.667 50.00
1.5 2.5 0.075 13.333 40.00
2.0 3.0 0.09 11.11 33.33
2.5 3.5 0.105 9.524 28.572
3.0 4.0 0.12 8.333 25.00

The table shows that the increases from Enhancements and Perks are a case of diminishing returns. A 100% increase results in a 50% reduction in Regen time, 16.67 seconds. But increasing from 100% to 200% only reduces the time by an additional 5.56 seconds. A third 100% increase yields only 2.78 seconds (8.33 seconds in combat).
