Stonekeep is an old ruined fort located in Hammerfell with connections to a large cavern. By 3E 389 it is overrun by goblins and various other creatures. Some notes can lead you to the final standing point of the survivors of the fort. You are sent here by Queen Blubamka to find a parchment that will allow her to decipher part of one of the Elder Scrolls which reveals the location of Fang Lair which holds the first part of the broken Staff of Chaos.
To find the scroll simply go straight ahead from the entrance and turn right once you reach the throne. Go through the door and kill the first group of enemies, usually wolves. Now go to the very end of the room and open the door on the right. You should see a raised blue platform. Get on it and jump across the ledge. Turn right and kill the skeletons before going across the water to reach the island guarded by a large group of ghouls. The scroll is in the middle of this island. (Perhaps to be removed as this fits better with the quest)
HistoryEdit
Some time before 3E 389 Stonekeep was a prosperous palace which served an unknown royal family which lived and ruled an uncertain area around their estate. It can be assumed they were confident in the capabilities of their guards as can be inferred from a welcome sign at the entrance.
LayoutEdit
The keep has a throne room, a dining room, various jail cells, a royal bedroom, bedrooms for servants, and a fountain. There is also a seemingly flooded area where the parchment can be found.

NotesEdit
- Stonekeep was intended as a two-level dungeon. The second level can still be found in the game files. A mod on Nexusmods re-adds this level
- Although Queen Blubamka mentions that the goblins of Stonekeep are led by a necromancer named Golthog the Dark, no such enemy appears by name or appearance in-game.
TriviaEdit
- Stonekeep is the only prerequisite dungeon in the main quest that has only one floor.
