Amiel Famalius

Amiel Famalius is a retired Imperial legionnaire. Now a farmer, he founded the Greenwood meadery after the war, although his son Afer and his daughter-in-law Rona run most operations now.

After waking up at 7am, Amiel eats a quick breakfast and then heads outside at 8am. For the next eleven hours he will be found wandering around Greenwood, heading back inside the meadery at 7pm for dinner. He then spends the rest of the evening indoors, eventually going to bed at midnight in his quarters on the first floor.

Amiel wears Colovian fine clothes and fine boots, and is armed with an iron sword and an iron dagger. He also carries 6 bottles of Greenwood mead, the keys to Afer and Rona's house and the meadery, as well as a random selection of gold, lockpicks, gems, jewelry, food and drink.

DialogueEdit

Amiel will greet you with:

"How can old Amiel help you?"
"Greenwood's still as beautiful as she ever was."
Tell me about yourself.
"I'm Amiel. I founded this meadery and came up with the family recipe. Don't make it anymore, though. Afer and Rona run the business now."
So this is where Greenwood Mead comes from?
"Yes, indeed! Very popular, too. Here, have a free sample, straight from the meadery."
Tell me about the history of this place.
"Ah, Greenwood has a long and storied history. What do you want to know?"
Tell me about the creation of Greenwood.
"This place used to be a little village called Bleaker's Way. They say it collapsed on account of in-fighting during the late Third Era. It was left weak as one of its original inhabitant families got killed by the other. The family remaining never really managed to restore it to its former prosperity, or so they say. Then the Great War happened, and the village got caught in the crossfire. It ended about as well as you could expect. After all was said and done, I decided that I would build something here. It's a picturesque place, and I thought it'd be a shame to let this place become some sort of battle scar forever. That's how Greenwood started."
Tell me about Afer and Rona.
"Afer's my son. Good lad. A bit set in his ways already for his age, but I guess that's what living in Greenwood does to you. Afer met Rona - love of his life, she is - up in Bruma. They were both staying at the same inn, and after some talk in the bar, well, they ended up staying in the same bed too."
Tell me about your life before Greenwood.
"I used to be a soldier in the Imperial Legion, during the Great War. I was at Bleaker's Way during the skirmishing. I tried to defend it from the Dominion forces, but I was just one man. I pegged a couple of them with arrows and fled to safety."
Tell me about Greenwood Mead's success.
"I know as much about it as you do. I made the mead, people seemed to like the recipe. I refined the recipe and it just kept selling and selling. Soon I was selling to nearly every innkeeper in Cyrodiil. Why people like it so much? I thank the Divines and my own hard work. Got to put your heart and soul into it, that's what makes it Greenwood Mead. Or so I believe."
Let's talk about something else.
"Sure thing! What do you want to know?"

Quest-Related DialogueEdit

Ask if he has any work available and he will

Got any work available?
"Perhaps. We tend to draw our water from the nearby river, but the source is, sadly, currently infested with ogres. Strong brutes, they are, let me tell you. Since we'd rather not get mauled by ogres, we haven't tried to clear them out. We're just normal people, not warriors. We've been hoping for a mercenary to happen by so we could get this problem sorted out, but not many tend to come around here. What do you say? There'll be coin involved."
Not my problem.
"Well, if that's what you think. But if you have a change of heart, just let me know."

Unfriendly neighbors

If you agree, or initially decline but then change your mind, he will be delighted:

Sure. I'll clear out the ogres. / I've decided to help you clear out the ogres.
"Great! There'll be some good coin in it for you if you return successful. The source is northeast of here. A river. Be careful."

Agreeing to help will start Water Run Dry. Once you've dispatched the three beasts, return to Amiel for your reward:

I cleared out the ogres infesting the source.
"Excellent! Now we can get Greenwood Mead production back on track. Thank you, my friend! Here, take this coin."

After this he will greet you with:

"Boy, am I glad you happened along. We'd be out of business otherwise!"
