Dumrag gro-Morrg

Dumrag gro-Morrg, an Orc warrior, is a mercenary drowning his sorrows in the Restful Watchman tavern after his wife Atul was abducted during a botched job.

Dumrag can be found sitting at the bar in the Watchman all day, draining tankards of ale and eating short meals at 8am, 12pm, and 7pm.

Dumrag wears a full set of iron armor, gauntlets and boots. He fights with an Orcish battleaxe and is also equipped with an Orcish war axe and an iron shield. On his person he carries a solution of health, a potion of vigorous healing, three potions of healing, three bottles of ale and a leveled amount of gold.

DialogueEdit

If you approach him, he will mumble:

"Gah, to fail a simple job like that. No way it was just a coincidence. There must have been- oh, hello. What are you looking at? Speak."

If you ask him to repeat himself he will admit:

"I... that's none of your... Agh, I suppose there's no harm in telling you now. Who knows, maybe you'll be able to help. I'm a mercenary. Been one for years now, and I don't often fail a job. But this last time, I did fail. But not through any fault of my own. I'd been hired by some anonymous noble to clear out a cave full of bandits near Bruma. Offered some nice coin, too. My wife came with me. We're battle-partners. Things were going well, until we were ambushed. Bandit reinforcements showed up out of nowhere, flanking us the way we came. They bound us and gagged us, left us disarmed and defeated. They left with my wife, and left me to die. I managed to escape my captivity, but when I got back to the cave they'd gone. All of them. Including my wife. I've been searching for her for damn near a whole year now, no success."

If you agree to help, he will send you off to the castle to find out more information. If you report back that Sinja Strong-Mind or Afanna Eddici are guilty, he will storm off to the castle and dispatch them with his axe, before being cut down by the guards. If you finger Simund Gautierre, he will ask you to investigate his manor before accompanying you there for the final showdown with Simund and Atul. Depending on your choices, there are two outcomes for Dumrag:

Dumrag fighting off some ogres after the quest

If you stand aside and let him kill Simund and Atul, he will flee in despair. You may later come across him in the wilderness, beset by suicidal thoughts, where he will ask you to finish him. If you oblige him, you will be able to loot him of his unique necklace.

If you encourage him to kill Gautierre, he will strike him down before chasing after the fleeing Atul. Later, you will find him fighting two ogres in the wilderness. Help him dispatch them, and he will reveal Atul fled again and that he has made his peace with the matter. He will instead offer to follow you in your adventures.
