Elenglynn (also called Elynglenn)[1] is an Ayleid ruin located in the western edge of the Great Forest, in the province of Cyrodiil. It is specifically located in middle of the Imperial Reserve, between Chorrol and Skingrad.[2][3]
HistoryEdit
Elenglynn was an active settlement during the time of the Ayleid Empire until their demise after the Alessian Slave Rebellion. The Ayleids of Elenglynn worshipped the Daedric Prince Ithelia, and the settlement contained a shrine to her. Around 2E 582, the ruins of Elenglynn were occupied by the Recollection, who were working to restore Ithelia to power. Ithelia herself visited the ruin when she was trying to recover her memories after escaping from Hermaeus Mora's prison.[4]
In the early Third Era, Sir Amiel Lannus and his cohorts, Sir Caius and Sir Torolf of the Knights of the Nine, quested for the Cuirass of the Crusader, an artifact unseen since the First Era. After their battle with the Wyrm of Elynglenn, they managed to recover the holy relic and their story became widespread, elevating the Knights of the Nine's status in the Third Empire.[1] By 3E 433, the ruins were taken over by a coven of necromancers and guarded by the undead.[2]
