Foyada Ashur-Dan

Foyada Ashur-Dan is one of the several foyadas of Vvardenfell, the island district of Morrowind. The volcanic ravines (or "fire-rivers") are valleys formed by lava flows from Red Mountain, functioning as drainage basins for lava when the volcano is active, or alternatively forming pathways to travel on when dormant and devoid of lava.[1][2][3] The foyada starts at the caldera of Red Mountain and travels southeast through the Ashlands, ending between Sanabi and Dulo Ancestral Tomb, though an opening is present on the east side near Zalkin-Sul Egg Mine.[4]

Odrosal and Yanemus Mine are found along the foyada.[5] Dunirai Caverns, Halit Mine, and Helas Ancestral Tomb are found between the Foyada Esannudan and Ashur-Dan.[6][7] Foyada Ashur-Dan was filled with lava at the time of the Imperial Simulacrum.[8] The foyada had dried up by the time of the Blight in 3E 427, and the Ghostgate went through it.

NotesEdit

  • "Ashur-Dan" is a name among male Ashlanders of the Zainab tribe.[9]
  • Early concepts show that much of the far-reaching areas of Foyada Ashur-Dan were planned to instead be a series of large Sulphur pools called "the Great Scathes".[10]
