Derelict Mine

Derelict Mine is a medium-sized mine east of Skingrad containing goblins. It contains three zones: Derelict Mine, Derelict Mine Tunnels, and Derelict Mine.

NotesEdit

  • This mine contains 4 Cairn Bolete plants and 11 Wisp Stalk plants.
  • The map marker can be added by talking about "Goblin hunting" with Ah-Malz in Skingrad Fighters Guild.
  • Two Goblin Totem Staffs can be found in this cave: the Sharp Tooth Tribe totem and the White Skin Tribe totem. The presence of the latter causes Derelict Mine to be a regular battlefield, as White Skin Goblins will invade the mine to claim their totem back.
  • Despite the identical names (Derelict Mine), the first and third zones are completely separate areas, each with their own map.

Zone 1: Derelict MineEdit

Derelict Mine

The chef's cooking area

Upon arriving from door Out, the northeast path at the first intersection leads to a dead end with a few minor loot chests and a silver vein. At the next junction, the choice is yours; continue southeast for a few chests and silver veins in the tunnels leading to door C, which gives underground access to Derelict Mine Tunnels; more strategically, take the southwest path as you will land on the upper level of the same zone. On your way, you will stumble upon a Sharp Tooth Chef guarding a kitchen-like area with a Roasted Rat and several ingredients, including the highest concentration of rat meat in Cyrodiil (all at F). Make your way through the tunnel to door D and enter Derelict Mine Tunnels.

Zone 2: Derelict Mine TunnelsEdit

Who gets the Totem?

Upon entering from door D, you will enter a large room divided by a canyon. On the other side are numerous Sharp Tooth and White Skin Goblins fighting over the stolen White Skin Totem at F, so proceed with caution, although you will likely be ignored due to the battle between the tribes. There may be up to 23 goblins slashing at each other, so wait out the fight and then mop up the survivors. This can still be a tough fight with multiple enemies, so try to use the stone bridge over the canyon to separate them and bump a few down. Loot the nearby chest and the valuable totem and jump down into the lower level, where you will find another two minor loot chests. After this make a quick escape through door E, which leads to the third zone, Derelict Mine (confusingly bearing the same name as the first zone).

When you return from door E, make your way back through the underground tunnels towards door C. There are two rooms along the way, each hosting a minor loot chest, and three goblins to fight. Door C leads back to the first zone, Derelict Mine.

Zone 3: Derelict MineEdit

Derelict Mine

This zone contains the Sharp Tooth totem, which is considerably better protected than the stolen White Skin totem in the previous zone. If you want to claim it, you will have to fight your way all the way to the second room, then backtrack all the way to the starting point, door E. When entering, dispose of the two Goblins and loot the nearby chest and silver vein. Make your way to the second room, beware of the tripwire triggering the two Swinging Mace traps at J, and witness the macabre sight of two rotten corpses dangling from the ceiling, above a raging bonfire. The Totem sits on the table (F) amid a pile of nineteen gold coins and the Goblin Shaman will protect it with her life. There are also two minor loot chests nearby. The last room resembles a typical rat pen, without the rats, and is protected by two goblins and a Swinging Log trap at G. This room is fairly unremarkable as it only contains one locked chest with minor loot.
