Skills and AbilitiesEdit
As a boss type enemy, Allene Pellingare is immune to all forms of crowd control effects.
- Strike
- A basic melee attack that does moderate physical damage.
- Penetrating Daggers
- A heavy melee attack that does very high physical damage and knocks the target down. This attack must be blocked by the tank or dodged by other roles at all costs especially on hard mode.
- Backstab
- The boss teleports onto a target dealing high physical damage. This attack is usually immediately followed by Razor Flourish. The high damage of these two attacks combined with their short cast times makes it likely that non tanks will die in two hits if they are not blocking or being healed. To prevent this, preemptively rolling immediately after getting hit by Backstab will help avoid the damage from Razor Flourish if it is cast by the boss.
- Razor Flourish
- The boss spins around dealing high physical damage around itself. This attack has a fast cast time with no red telegraph indicator but has a short range, so avoid standing too near the boss if possible.
- Summon Hallucinations
- At 75%, 50% and 25%, the boss disappears in puff of smoke and summons Fiendish Hallucinations to attack the party, with the amount of them increasing with each summoning. These should be killed quickly to simplify the fight.
- Ghost Burst
- After the final wave of bats are summoned, the boss will reappear in a ghostly shadowy form, dealing moderate magical damage in a short radius around her.
DialogueEdit
Wayrest Sewers IEdit
When she first notices you:
- Allene Pellingare: "There will be no place for rabble like you when the Pellingares rule Wayrest!"
If your group wipes:
- Allene Pellingare: "You peasants were simply out-classed."
Once Allene has been killed, Investigator Lienne will arrive with Pellingare in tow to confront him with truth of what his children have been doing.
- Investigator Lienne: "There's your proof, Master Pellingare. It was your children responsible for this madness."
- Master Pellingare: "Allene! No!"
- "My poor daughter. Why did you do this?"
Wayrest IIEdit
As the battle with the lich ensues, Master Pellingare will escape but can caught up with in the cavern where his children first died. He can be heard beseeching his children to speak with him.
- Master Pellingare: "I'll talk to them. Make them understand. Maybe I'll get through this time."
- Master Pellingare: "Allene! Varaine! It's your father! I love you, and I want to talk to you!"
- "It's all right. These people are here to help you."
- <The pair emerge and the battle starts>
- Master Pellingare: "Forgive me."
When one of the siblings receives a damage shield, Allene and Varaine will engage in banter.
- Varaine Pellingare: "Try and keep up, sis."
- Allene Pellingare: "Don't you get tired of me constantly outdoing you?"
- Varaine Pellingare: "Come on, don't make me do this myself."
- Allene Pellingare: "Stop toying with my brother, and try a real challenge."
- Varaine Pellingare: "Need some help Allene?"
- Allene Pellingare: "Don't give up so easily Varaine."
- Varaine Pellingare: "Take a Breather Allene."
- Allene Pellingare: "You really can't do anything yourself."
AchievementsEdit
This boss is associated with several achievements.
NotesEdit
- When walking by a nearby guard tower before completing the dungeons, Master Pellingare comments that his daughter is "distant and aloof".
BugsEdit
- If Allene turns into her shadow form during the battle and Wayrest Sewers I and the group party is wiped, she will remain in her shadow form when fought again instead of reverting to her regular self. This has no effect on combat.
