Detailed WalkthroughEdit

Meet Quen at her secret rooftop retreatEdit

Some time after learning about her father's other life and obtaining his ledger, she will send you a note.

[PlayerName],
"I deciphered my father's ledger! Come by my rooftop retreat when you have a moment.
—Quen
"PS: There is another mustard stain. No judgments!"

Meet Quen at her rooftop retreat, where she will be excited of your arrival. Talk to her and she will explain that she deciphered the ledger with the help of, who she's been feeling rather close with as a stepmother she never knew, and that it contains the location of the "greatest treasure" her father had. She explains Lady Sulima really enjoys her company as well, since she has no one to keep her companion beside the mercenaries she hired. She says she knows exactly where to find the treasure, and marks it on your map, after which she explains she wants your help recovering it since you've been with her since the start.

After agreeing to help Quen find the treasure, you will be handed Saroldo's Treasure Map.

Search for the buried treasureEdit

What are Lady Sulima's guards doing here?

Go to the spot marked on the map. Quen will meet you there and keep an eye out. Dig up the treasure and loot it to obtain Saroldo's Treasure. Quen will notice Lond and Sawoyewen, two mercenaries from Lady Sulima's mansion are digging nearby. Go to confront them and they attack immediately. After killing them, Lady Sulima will stand on a nearby hill, surprised to see Quen here.

Quen: "Those were Lady Sulima's mercenaries! What were they doing here?"
Lady Sulima: "Quen? You weren't supposed to be here!"
Quen: "Lady Sulima?"
Lady Sulima: "This is all wrong! They weren't supposed to hurt anyone!"
<Lady Sulima runs away.>
Quen: "Wait! Get back here!"
<Quen follows.>

Follow Quen and confront Lady Sulima. She'll explain that the mercenaries overheard her and Quen, and that she promised them a share while the rest would be for Quen. When asked why, she'll explain that she ran out of money to pay the mercenaries and couldn't pay them any other way. At this point, you've got two options. Either agree that it was a mistake out of desperation and leave judgment to Quen, or blame her for betraying Quen.

Confront Lady Sulima

Agree it was a desperate mistakeEdit

If you agree it was a mistake made out of desperation, Quen will forgive Lady Sulima acknowledging that she has faced a lot. Quen will tell her she'll bring her to a safe place where she lives. Talk to Quen. She tells you she wants to bring Lady Sulima to the thieves den both so that she'll be saved as to honor her father's wish of wanting to protect her. After this, the quest is finished and both Saroldo's Treasure and the map leading to it disappear from your inventory.

Blame her for betraying QuenEdit

Quen will be mad at Lady Sulima, saying she'll get nothing but contempt from her. Lady Sulima will be forced to stay in the mansion without being able to afford help, causing her certain doom sooner or later. Speak with Quen, who will feel disgusted that after her father put so much trouble in for Lady Sulima she tried to steal her inheritance, after which she calms down and decides to stay in Abah's Landing for now as that is where her friends are. After this, the quest is finished and both Saroldo's Treasure and the map leading to it disappear from your inventory.

NotesEdit

  • The mercenaries and Lady Sulima won't exist at the treasure site before reaching the related objective, even moments before.

* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
