A Right to LiveEdit

After you collected the bloodfiend dust and when you enter Valeric's Manor, she will inform you about Valeric's whereabouts:

Rala: "Big man said you'd be showing up soon. He's upstairs with the lizard girl."

You can speak to her to learn how both her and Jaruk became vampires:

"I'm tired of being stuck in here all day long. Such a shame. When we walk in the beautiful sunlight, we burst into flames.
Though I suppose it does make taking a stroll more exciting."
You're rather polite for a vampire.
"Just because I'm not attempting to rip you open and feast on your blood doesn't mean that I'm not thinking about it.
It's our nature to lust for the life within you. Luckily for you, Valeric has taught us to control our hunger."
Valeric?
"Valeric saved us. He has his reasons, I guess.
He even infiltrated a Dominion military camp to save Jaruk. The Khajiit was dying and Valeric turned him."
And what about you?
"I was different once. A servant, given to the Nords as a gift when this alliance was formed.
Eventually, though, my masters grew tired of me and I was thrown out into the cold."
How did you survive?
"I didn't. The cold overtook me. The next thing I remember, Valeric was watching over me. He gave me his gift to save me
It's kind of funny. On the day I died, my life truly began."

The Better of Two EvilsEdit

You can speak to her further about Valeric's father inside Valeric's manor:

"I'm tired of being stuck in here all day long. Such a shame. When we walk in the beautiful sunlight, we burst into flames.
Though I suppose it does make taking a stroll more exciting."
You're rather polite for a vampire.
"Just because I'm not attempting to rip you open and feast on your blood doesn't mean that I'm not thinking about it.
It's our nature to lust for the life within you. Luckily for you, Valeric has taught us to control our hunger."
You control your hunger?
"Valeric believes that this power is a curse, not a gift. The temptation of blood must be controlled at all costs, he tells us. We were not meant to feed upon one another.
He teaches us to survive, but not to lose control."
And what about his father?
"His father belongs to the Volkihar Clan. Tyrants known for their cruelty and lust for blood. They embrace their power and believe themselves to be greater than mere mortals.
As you can guess, Valeric opposes this line of thinking."
So why is his father here?
"Valeric's father believes that a war is coming and he wants to take advantage of that. So he's building an army. You can see his spawn all around the hot springs.
And he continues to try to convince Valeric to join him, of course."

Siding with ValericEdit

After throwing cat urine at the Winterland hunters, you'll find her enjoying her drink in the manor:

"Valeric's plan might actually work this time!
I don't remember ever saying that before. Can't get too excited, though. There are a hundred ways this could still go horribly wrong."

After speaking to Valeric and when you head over to his father's manor, you'll catch her feeding on Tunus inside Majorn's Manor. Rala couldn't resist the temptations of feeding which is why she killed Tunus for his blood. If you're able to persuade her to control herself, she will be ashamed what she has done and will hand you the key to the Wittestadr crypts. Otherwise, if you're unable to get her to stop feeding, you will have no choice but to chase her down and put her down:

"Please, leave me alone. I don't want to talk about what happened here."
What happened?
"I couldn't resist the urge. I had to feed. Valeric keeps us locked away. He doesn't let us feed, not naturally, not like this.
I need blood to survive. Why deny me this pleasure?"
This isn't what Valeric taught you.
"I don't care what Valeric taught us! This is who we are! This is what we are!
If we ever hope to defeat the ancients, we must embrace the power as they do. We can't keep feeding on skeevers and hope to grow strong. We must ... we must feast."
[Persuade] This isn't you, Rala. You have to control yourself!
"It's been so long. You just don't understand. How could you?
I need this to live! Valeric starves us. We mostly feed on animals, finding criminals when we can. There's a reason we're not as strong as the ancients. We must grow stronger."
Not this way. You're better than this. You can control it.
"No … I … you're right. What am I doing? I've fallen, just as the ancients wanted us to.
Here. This is the key to the crypts. Tunus had it. Go in there and end this. Please."
You have to stop. Now.
"You can't stop me. No one can stop me.
I'll continue to feed. I'll grow strong. I'll defeat the ancients!"

If you fail to persuade her, she will run upstairs with the key and enter into the study room. When you catch her she will warn you:

Rala: "I warned you, but just don't listen. Stay back!"

After that she attacks.

Rala: "Valeric won't hold me back any longer. I'll become stronger than the ancients and destroy them all!"

After the quest, if you sided with Valeric, speaking with her grants you a passive effect called Rala's Blessing, which reduces your damage taken by 5% for 30 minutes. Your hands will glow red when you are granted the blessing.

"I was a fool for losing control like that. I can't thank you enough for helping me through that. I don't know what I would have done if the bloodlust had taken me."

Siding with MajornEdit

You will have to fight her if you decide to oppose Valeric.
