As a boss rank enemy, Rootstrider Maglin is immune to crowd control.

Quick Strike

Basic melee attack dealing moderate physical damage.

Heavy Attack

A charged melee attack that deals high physical damage and staggers. This can be blocked to stagger Rootstrider Maglin instead.

Swamp Slam

Rootstrider Maglin starts a Uppercut-like attack but then releases a burst of green energy around him dealing very high physical damage and snaring (Bog Slam).

Crushing Thorns

Rootstrider Maglin stands firmly upon the ground and channels an ability that sends out a cluster of vines at his target, indicated by a red rectangle. If the target is caught, they are trapped by the vines and dealt continuous low physical damage until the ability runs out or they dodge roll to break the vines.

Vine Whip

When standing outside of melee range, Rootstrider Maglin uses a Nature's Grasp-like ability which pulls him to his target and deals minor magic damage.

Echo

If Rootstrider Maglin dies while at least one other Boss is alive, he will come back as an untargetable echo spirit and will continue to fight you. All spirits die when the last boss is defeated.
