Detailed WalkthroughEdit

You will find a note addressed to you from Velsa in the Thieves Den near the exit to cistern, read it to start the quest.

"[PlayerName],
"Narahni and I are doing well. She wants to talk to you."
<Continue reading.>
"Come by our rooms here in the Den. We had to vacate my place in the alleys as there were too many Iron Wheel fetchers sniffing around for my taste.
—V."
I should go and see what Narahni wants to talk about.

Finding TashminEdit

You can find Narahni and Velsa in the back of the living quarters. Talk to Narahni. She tells you she has a son named Tashmin, who just like Velsa parted with Narahni on bad terms, but that she tried looking for him as she's trying to put her past in order. She also tells you she's worried he's in danger, as he's arrested by bounty hunters who she suspects are working for House Dres of which Narahni used to be a slave. Nahrani sends you to the letter she received in the room in front of where she's sitting. Read the letter and go to the indicated city.

In the city, you can find Erendette, a friend of Tashmin. She needs your help removing a page from a ledger of her debt-owner, and refuses to talk to you until you help her. Go to the location Erendette says. The location depends upon the city. (In Windhelm it's The Anvil & Pauldron. In Skywatch it's The Sleepy Eaglet.) The ledger is inside a locked chest. Pick it and return it to Erendette. She tells you Tashmin is tied up near the docks.

Saving TashminEdit

You'll find Tashmin on the south-most corner of the docks. Speak to him. He will be rather depressed and tells you freeing him will be useless due to the arrest writ the bounty hunter carries. The bounty hunter is walking around at the docks. Pickpocket him and return to Tashmin to free him. Tashmin will run to the stables, meet him there. At the stables, talk to Tashmin once more and explain him Narahni sent you. He'll be surprised and tell you that despite having been mad for a long time, right now he's just sad about it. Send him to Abah's Landing and return to the Thieves Den. Tashmin will be waiting for you in the cistern before the entrance inside the city. Talk to him and bring him to Narahni in the living quarters. Then, talk to Velsa, who will act like she's not tearing up from her lover being reunited happily, and the quest will be finished.

NotesEdit

  • Prior to Update 39, this quest required you to have reached Thieves Guild Rank 9.
  • Despite physically picking up Velsa's note upon starting the quest, it's not added to your quest items.
  • Despite telling you to come meet with her at her new hideout in the letter, Velsa will still appear during main Thieves Guild quests.
    • This can result in Velsa appearing twice in different places in the Thieves Den at the same time.
  • The bounty hunter won't react or become hostile even if freeing Tashmin in clear view of him.
  • Upon returning, Narahni and Velsa won't exist in the living quarters of the Thieves Den when not accompanied by Tashmin.

BugsEdit

  • The quest marker showing the letter from Faradan doesn't appear on the local map. ?
  • The chest containing the ledger page isn't actually opened when lockpicking it. As a result, simply just forcing the lock, regardless of if it succeeds or not, will give you the ledger page and complete the objective. ?

* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
