Bounty Contract
Location(s): Buried Artifact
Next Quest: Undying Blades

On the body of Wadracki, I found a contract for the death of that Dremora [sic], made out to someone named Orchenir.

Quick WalkthroughEdit

  1. Kill Wadracki and retrieve Bounty Contract.
  2. Bring the contract back to Orchenir.

Detailed WalkthroughEdit

There were two ways to start this quest.

Method 1: Find the Contract FirstEdit

If you killed Wadracki at Harena Hypogeum before meeting Orchenir, you would have found a Bounty Contract on the Xivkyn's corpse. Interacting with the item in your inventory would have started the quest.

On the body of the Dremora [sic], you find a damp, smeared piece of paper on which only the following is legible:
"… upon confirmed kill of Wadracki, Orchenir will be paid four times the standard amount for braving the hazards of the Imperial Sewers."
I should find Orchenir.

You'd find him (?). He'd greet you one of three ways:

"Keep your head down. I don't want to lose another bounty because of your clumsiness."
'
"Well, look at that. I'd given up on that contract. I may have to revise my opinion on the usefulness of strangers.
Here's your cut of the contract, plus a little extra. Have a drink on me, eh?"

Method 2: Find Orchenir FirstEdit

"If you're a bounty hunter, just keep moving. I lost one bounty and don't intend to lose any more."
"Just move along, stranger. I don't need any more lost bounties."
"Keep your head down and stay quiet. I don't need to lose another bounty here."
'
"No one's perfect, not even me. One of my quarries is a Dremora [sic] assassin called Wadracki—a real ugly bastard. Too tough for me.
Not only did he beat me, but he stole my copy of his contract! Without it, even if I did kill him, I wouldn't get paid."
What if I kill Wadracki and recover the contract?
"Well, then we'd split the bounty!
I should warn you though. That creature is not one to trifle with. I wouldn't attack him alone. Either way, you get the contract, you've got a deal."

If you speak to him again after accepting the quest, he'll say: From there, you'd have to find and kill Wadracki. Loot the contract from his corpse, then return to Orchenir.

"See if you can find that Dremora bastard. He was here in the Market Sewers when I met him. Fought right over there. Probably left a stein's worth of blood on those stones. Ugh.
Oh, I should tell you he had some friends too."

If you speak to him again, he'll say one of the following:

"With these Daedra, death is never final. That's good news for bounty hunters like us, eh?"
"Don't worry about me, my friend. Plenty more work down here for a bounty hunter of my skill."
"You did me a good turn, finding that contract. Best of luck surviving in the city. As for me, I'll stick down here where it's dark."
Sorry to be harsh, but the last person to stumble into me cost me a contract. He died in the process, but that wasn't much consolation.
Thanks again for finding that contract."

NotesEdit

  • The item description for the Bounty Contract reads: The paper is wet and the smeared ink has rendered many of the words unreadable.
  • This contract could also be read in book form.
