Detailed WalkthroughEdit

Talk to Shazah/Khali when you are ready to walk the path.

Align the ReflectorsEdit

Aligned reflectors

Inside the Temple of the Dance, you will talk to Rid-Thar-ri'Datta.

"You have begun your journey, pilgrim. Ahead lies danger. For now, you face only the light of the moons. Breathe deep of the moon-sugar vapors and open your minds to the Path."
Where are we?
"You are deep below the Temple of the Dance, Hallowed. Tradition dictates that the start of your journey should be rooted in what has come before. Here you will find that the past is very much alive in the moonlight."
What do we need to do?
"Simply call down the light of Jone and Jode. Each of these reflectors is misaligned. Attune them to the moonlight, and see what the Bright Moons wish you to see."
We'll see it done.

He says you need to align the reflectors to the light of Jone and Jode. As you align each of the four crystals, you'll witness memories relevant to the history of the Khajiit and the prospective Mane. The Lunar Champion will comment on each vision as they happen.

When you align the first crystal, you'll see a vision of the day the Khajiit joined the Dominion.

Queen Ayrenn : "Mane Akkhuz-ri, it is a pleasure to meet you. The Khajiit and their faith will be the Dominion's bulwark against the darkness."
Akkhuz-ri : "Thank you, my Queen. May the Bright Moons guide us in our new endeavor."

Demi-Plane of Jode

Upon the second crystal's alignment, you'll briefly witness Rid-Thar-ri'Datta's revelation.

Rid-Thar-ri'Datta: "Jone and Jode, you have shown the way to Rid-Thar-ri'Datta. This one is your humble servant."
Rid-Thar-ri'Datta: "By your light this one will lead his people. By your light will this one imbue balance to the Khajiit."

After you align the third crystal, you'll see one of Khali and Shazah's memories:

Moon-Bishop Hunal : "Jone and Jode have spoken. Shazah, Khali … you were both born beneath the same moon. Never before has this happened. Never before have the Bright Moons gifted us this way. Forevermore you will be known as the 'Lunar Champions.'"
Shazah : "We … we understand. The Mane is strong, and we are … we are new."
Khali : "Yes, we understand. We're an embarrassment! We didn't ask for this. We were born this way, moons-be-damned!"

Once all four reflectors are aligned, a portal will open. You'll step through to find yourself in the Demi-Plane of Jode.

Talk to the Lunar Champion.

Khali:
Shazah:
"Have you ever seen a place like this, Hallowed? Even in my dreams, I never imagined it would look like this …."
Where are we?
"Shazah was always telling me stories … I never thought I'd see this place. It's the Plane of Jode, Hallowed! The place where the Bright Moons dwell, the home of the gods. It's … different than I expected in some ways. But that makes sense."
What do you mean?
"The Path is changing to suit us, to reflect the challenges we face. Dull claws … this is just like the monks' prayers. Put something in front of me, let me hit it!"
Where do we go from here?
"Remember back to your training, Khali … Let's just wait a moment. If I'm right, the Path will show us the way."
All right, patience it is.
"Have you ever seen a place like this, Hallowed? Even in my dreams, I never imagined it would look like this …."
Where are we?
"I never thought I would see this place. I've seen drawings in the oldest texts … the Plane of Jode. The place where the Bright Moons dwell, the home of the gods. It's … different than I expected in some ways. But that makes sense."
What do you mean?
"The Path is changing to suit us, reflect the challenges we face. Just like for Zibbiden-jo … the Argonian soul reavers … sorry, Hallowed. Just thinking of one of the stories I read."
Where do we go from here?
"Let's just … wait a moment. If I'm right, the Path will show us they way."
All right, patience it is.

The specter of a Spinner appears and runs to another portal. Follow him.

The Wild HuntEdit

What the future may hold

In the next area, you'll find Elilor dying on the ground. The Hunt has driven all the Bosmer mad: now they've turned against the Silvenar and the Green Lady, whom Elilor failed to protect.

Find the Silvenar and the Green Lady. You'll defend them from three waves of werewolves and Savage Bosmer until the Silvenar grows weary. You're prompted to speak with the Green Lady.

"He'll be all right. We've suffered through worse."
He doesn't look well, my lady.
"He's fine. He's just tired. We've been running for so long now. I don't know how much longer we can keep this up."
What happened to the Wood Elves?
"After Akkhuz-ri's fall, and the death of Gharesh-ri, the Khajiit fell away from the Dominion. The other Alliances moved in. We tried to make the heart of the forest beat that much stronger, but they lost hope."
What did you do?
"We … we said the words. And the Wild Hunt returned to Valenwood. It roamed through the forest, drove our people feral. It had consumed them before we realized what had happened. That's when the chase began."
Will you be able to survive?
"Who knows? As soon as my mate wakes we can get moving again. Then from there, I have no clue. But wait. He's stirring. What is it, my heart? Are you all right?"

She reveals that the Khajiit left the Aldmeri Dominion after the fall of Akkhuz-ri and subsequent death of Speaker Gharesh-ri. The Bosmer called upon the Wild Hunt to grant them the strength to stand against the other alliances, which took the opportunity to close in on the weakened Dominion. The Hunt consumed the people of Valenwood, forcing the Green Lady and the Silvenar to flee.

Soon the Silvenar's condition worsens, and he transforms into a werewolf. You and the Green Lady are forced to kill him. She blames Queen Ayrenn for the current state of affairs, and tells you to leave: the Silvenar is dead, and the Green Lady will soon follow.

Ayrenn's Last StandEdit

Talk to Shazah/Khali again, then follow a ghostly Cariel into the next portal. You arrive to see Cariel wounded by a Veiled Heritance soldier. She tells you that the Veiled Heritance led a revolt against Queen Ayrenn, and all of Summerset has turned against her. You're instructed to assist Razum-dar in saving the Queen.

Head up the path and into a beach cavern and you'll see Battlereeve Urcelmo attacking Razum-dar. The Eye of the Queen falls, and Urcelmo flees further into the cave. Raz tells you that the Battlereeve turned against the Queen when she tried to hold the Dominion together, and the other alliances are marching on Summerset. Your next objective is to leave Razum-dar and find the Queen.

You open the door to Ayrenn's Last Stand. Inside the inner sanctum, Ayrenn and Urcelmo are doing battle. Join Queen Ayrenn: once the Battlereeve is defeated the Queen leads you back out to the Summerset Isles, where you'll speak with her.

"I just wanted to keep the dream alive. The dream of my Aldmeri Dominion …."
My Queen, you're hurt.
"Yes. Badly. Swords can cut … cut pretty deep, it turns out. I feel the wounds in the Dominion much worse, though. Those wounds will be the death of me."
Is the Dominion truly at an end?
"Yes. The Wood Elves consumed by rage. The Khajiit, retreated into the desert. And my people … Summerset risen up against me. By the time the Pact and the Covenant arrive on our shores, there will be nothing left to pick apart."
You'll be all right, my Queen. We can get you to safety.
"No. I have nowhere I can go. My people have rejected me. Rejected the whole idea of an alliance with other races. The Eagle banner is fallen. I might as well fall too.
Surely you can fight back?
"What reason is there left to fight? We've lost our heart. Our soul. And now, with my death, the body of the Dominion shall fall silent as well. Leave me, please. Let a Queen die with dignity. In silence, and solitude."
As you command, my Queen.
"Get out of here! I command you to … just go."

She commands you to leave her alone to die, and you'll exit this portion of the vision through a portal.

Speak to the Lunar Champion: she asserts that this will not be the future of the Dominion.

Khali:
Shazah:
"I never thought it could be this bad. I'm used to something I can pin down and fight, you know? Something that my blade can solve. No blade can solve this."
What we saw … could it be the future of the Dominion?
"Not if I have anything to say about it. I know what this is, Hallowed. These visions … they're a future where the Mane does not lead her people. With wisdom as well as strength. This will not be our future."
"I never thought it could be this bad. I'm used to being able to think through my problems. Using my books and spells to … there's no solution to this in a book."
What we saw … could it be the future of the Dominion?
"Not if I have anything to say about it. I know what this is, Hallowed. These visions … they're a future where the Mane does not lead her people. With strength as well as wisdom. This will not be our future."

NotesEdit

  • While following you in this quest, despite being a mage, Shazah behaves like a foot soldier wielding a sword instead of using her staff from range.
  • The Green Lady and the Silvenar won't appear in the central area before speaking with Elilor.
  • Razum-dar and Urcelmo won't exist on the hill until speaking to Cariel.
    • Urcelmo then won't exist inside with Queen Ayrenn in the accessible ruins until speaking with Razum-dar.

Alternate TimelinesEdit

The Wild Hunt: With the Mane, Akkuz-ri fallen (and not cleansed of darkness), the Kajiit leave the Aldmeri Dominion and all other factions come after them. The Green Lady and The Silvanar say "the words" and enact The Wild Hunt, going back to a more primitive time before The Green Pact, becoming more feral and violent. With the Silvenar dead, the Green Lady will soon follow. Valenwood and the Bosmer people are doomed.

TLDR;

  • Shaza/Khali never becomes the new Mane
  • Akkuz-ri never gets cleansed of darkness
  • The Dark Mane never gets bound for all eternity.
  • The Wild Hunt is enacted
  • The Silvenar dies and The Green Lady will follow.
  • Valenwood and the Bosmer people are doomed.

Ayrenn's Last Stand: In this timeline the player has been missing for months and now shows up out of nowhere. Having not taken on the Veiled Heritence and defeated them, they lead a revolt against the Queen. Battlereave Urcelmo is still alive and turns on Queen Ayrenn. Instead of peacefull diplomacy, Queen Ayrenn now rules the Aldmeri Dominion with an Iron Fist and keeps it together through sheer force of will. With the Wood Elves consumed by rage (The Wild Hunt) and the Kajiit in disarray the other Factions are coming for Summerset Isles. Queen Ayrenn resigns herself to fate and dies. The Aldmeri Dominion is doomed.

BugsEdit

  • The portal you exit from when first entering the demi-plane, which remains active, cannot be used to return to the temple. ?
  • Veiled Heritance enemies disappear from view instantly when they defeat the First Auridon Marines they are battling with. ?
  • Queen Ayrenn says her dialogue about following her out of the cave while she is still being attacked by Urcelmo. ?
  • If you allow Queen Ayrenn's health bar to get depleted fully, when she gets back up, she runs out of the cave while Urcelmo is still alive. The objective remains to save her however. ?
  • The purple screen filter that is applied when exiting the Summerset Isle vision goes away after a short duration instead of persisting. ?
