The nightmare Daedra Ansuul the Tormentor is invading Warlock Vanton's dreams. Wizard Twelvane asked me to journey into Vanton's mind and stop Ansuul before she defeats him and enters the waking world.

I should give Wizard Twelvane the Dreamstone. She knows more about it than I do and can hopefully keep what happened to Warlock Vanton from happening again.

If you fail to get the quest from Wizard Twelvane at the start of the trial, the quest can still be received by looting Ansuul the Tormentor's corpse. You will usually receive the Vacant Dreamstone to show to Twelvane.
- <This must be the Dreamstone that housed Ansuul the Tormentor. I should return it to Wizard Twelvane.>
- I should bring the Dreamstone to Wizard Twelvane.
If Hard Mode was completed, you will instead receive the Whispering Dreamstone.
- <I defeated Ansuul the Tormentor inside her own domain and recovered a Whispering Dreamstone. I should bring it to Wizard Twelvane for safe keeping.>
- I should bring the Whispering Dreamstone to Wizard Twelvane.
