Ability Magicka costs 5% off

All the base magicka ability costs I am seeing in the editor (which are the same as the ones over at http://esoitem.uesp.net/viewSkills.php) are 5-8% lower than the values I am seeing in game. Not sure what is going on. For example, Force Pulse should be 2700 but is displayed as 2509. Liquid Lightning should be 3510 but displays as 3319. --Retired adventurer (talk) 01:42, 17 June 2017 (UTC)

Ah, thanks! The character I mined the skills with had an enchanted ring with 191 Magicka cost reduction on it. I've fixed all the magicka cost and they should be accurate again. -- Daveh (talk) 18:27, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
Magicka costs on skill pages (eg. http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Strife) still read old costs. StoneCold14 (talk) 15:31, 24 July 2017 (UTC)

Hello,

I'am new to this Page, i found a link to this Build Editor and it is quite impressive.

Sadly i cannot save my Builds, it always says "ERROR saving Build!" i also tried to copy an already existing build but it tells me "ERROR Copying Build!"

OK so i can't tell you why, maybe i was too dumb or made a mistake BUT now i can Save Build with Firefox (54.0 32-bit), Chrome still don't work but if Firefox works it's fine for me
Short Tip for anyone who has the same Problem, try a Browser with NONE Extension, i think some Extension break functionality, my Firefox where the saves works now is 100% Vanilla — Unsigned comment by XXDarkXx (talkcontribs) at 13:18 on 22 June 2017

This seems to be unrelated to the actual builder code and perhaps related to the ad Flash/JavaScript. If anyone else has similar issues try installing AdBlock (or a similar extension) and disable adds on the builder page. -- Daveh (talk) 15:38, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

() Got the same error with Chrome, Firefox and Edge (the last two with vanilla config). After updating Java (not flash!) it is working correctly on all the three browsers. Piccia (talk) 14:55, 18 July 2017 (UTC)

But in the end I don't know why the java update should be relevant, I don't think the editor uses any java. Actually I'm now trying on another PC with Chrome, the save was failing, then I closed Chrome, reopened it, and now it works... seems it happens at random :/ Piccia (talk) 17:06, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
I'm unable to create a new build me too. I try to perform some investigation inspecting the ajax message exchange and I discovered that the server response have Status Code: 200 OK, but the json is the following: {"errors":["Permission Denied!"],"success":false}
I don't thing it a problem related to my browsers (I tried using smartphone, tablet and PCs; Chrome, Firefox and IE) but it seams that my user account does not have the permission to save a new build and the server reject the related request.
I hope may be useful to investigate the problem. Regards Briiel (talk) 12:55, 22 August 2017 (UTC)

Passives not been choosen on Android

Hi, Since I can't save my build at the computer, i tried using the Android chrome and there the save is ok, and at star i was able to chose the passives, but now i can't do that anymore. I click at the passive, it opens the morphs menu, i click at the morph but it does nothing, just open the info box of the skill. I tried to save a existing build and make a new build and still the same. Thanks! Aagobbo (talk) 12:22, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the note! We need to do some more work on mobile devices to get it working better. Look for some fixes/improvements in the upcoming weeks. -- Daveh (talk) 15:40, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

Master-at-arms not affecting LA/HA damage

Master-at-arms increases direct damage done, light attacks and heavy attacks of all weapons (except restoration and shock staves which are damage over time) are direct damage and are increased by more points in master-at-arms. Just to be sure, I have tested it in game and it is true. StoneCold14 (talk) 12:54, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

Thanks...I was meaning to test this but haven't had time. I've added CP.DirectDamageDone and CP.DotDamageDone to the LA/HA calculations but have yet to verify any of them in-game as to where they are in the calculation. If you notice issues with the calculated values just let us know! -- Daveh (talk) 15:48, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

Ancient knowledge passive (destro staff skill tree) working on different abilities than in game

It seems that ancient knowledge recognises some abilities that are single target (+8% dmg with fire staff) as AoE (+8% dmg with shock staff) and vice-versa. I did not test all abilities, I make builds exclusively for nightblades so:

Grim focus (and both its morphs) have in-built single-target ability Assassin's Will (Assassin's Scourge for stam morph) but are empowered by 8% dmg buff with shock staff. (In game tested - increased dmg with fire staff) Meteor and both its morphs are AoE ability and are empowered by fire staff instead of shock staff - BUT I have not checked this in game (meteor in its description is cast on single enemy) so maybe this is correct, I will test this later today and let you know. StoneCold14 (talk) 12:54, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

I have tested this in-game further but only on nightblade vampire, so there are many skills that are not tested. Here is what I learned. Everything tested on PS4 europe:
a] NB skills: 1] Grim focus and all its morphs are wrong. Assassin's will (or scourge) is single target ability and should be empowered by fire staff.
b] Destro staff:
1] Force pulse (only this morph) is correctly empowered by fire staff as it is single target ability, but secondary damage to 2 nearby targets which are burning/chilled/concussed should not be empowered by either shock or fire staff (weird but correct)
2] Wall of elements and its morphs should be empowered by lightning staff. Currently it looks like this skill is not affected by ancient knowledge at all.
c] Soul magic: 1] Soul trap looks like single target ability, but in game it is aoe ability affecting multiple enemies. Empowered by shock staff.
d] Mages guild: 1] Meteor and its morphs are casted on a single enemy, but are AoE abilities. Both impact dmg and DoT part should be empowered by shock staff.
e] Assault: 1] Magicka detonation and Inevitable detonation are casted on a single enemy, but dmg is AoE. Both should be empowered by shock staff. - Proximity detonation morph changes cast target to Self and build editor correctly empowers it with shock staff as AoE.
j] Vampire skills 1] Clouding swarm morph of the ultimate is correctly empowered by shock staff, BUT Materialize damage should be unaffected by ancient knowledge passive (same as Force Shock's secondary damage)
Abilities and groups of abilities left to be tested
c] Soul magic: 2] Shatter soul - I suspect that the secondary explosion after target is killed should be empowered by shock staff.
f] DK skills
g] Templar skills
h] Sorcerer skills
i] Warden skills
k] Werewolf skills
l] Undaunted skills synergies
1] Inner fire synergy explosion is AoE
2] Trapping webs synergy is single target
m] Fighters guild 1] Silver Shards - I suspect this morph of Silver bolts might be AoE kind of like Soul trap.

War Maiden set 5pc bonus does not show in abilities' tooltips

War Maiden 5pc set bonus gives 400 spell damage to abilities which deal magic damage. It does not affect tooltips of any nightblade magic damage skill (strife, assassin's blade, grim focus, drain power, path of darkness, etc.) Now that I think of it, it may do the same in game as with soulshine set or silks of the sun, I will test this later today and delete this if that is the case. StoneCold14 (talk) 12:54, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

I tested this in game on PS4 europe. When I switch my war maiden ring (5th part of this set) for non set ring with the same quality, trait and enchant and back, I can see changes in magic damage abilities' tooltip damage. So War Maiden 5piece set bonus should appear in abilities' tooltips.
In the game it even adds the spell damage to destruction staff abilities in the skill selection where it says that they deal magic damage. After you slot them and they change to their elemental variant based on staff you are using, the bonus is lost.
StoneCold14 (talk) 11:56, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

Master's Weapons Magicka Bonuses aren't reflected in the Computed Character Statistics.

So on my Magick Sorcerer I am running 2x Infernal Guardian, 5x Alteration Mastery, 3x Willpower, and a Master's Inferno / Master's Resto as weapons. According to Item.Magicka it has a value of 6,222, which is the sum of all magicka bonuses from enchants and traits EXCEPT for the 1,032 Maximum Magicka bonus to both of my Master's Inferno and Master's Restoration staves. Unable to View Tooltip Damage on Flame Reach

Same as the section title. I am unable to view the tooltip for Flame Reach, even after refreshing the page JarlUlfric (talk) 06:34, 27 June 2017 (UTC)

This is due to how the game handles a few Destruction abilities by changing the ability depending on the type of staff you have equipped. If you swap it for the base "Destructive Reach" ability it should work until I figure a way of getting the element specific abilities to work correctly. -- Daveh (talk) 15:53, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

Racial Skills unremovable and not all there.

Some how when you do a race change, some of the previous race skills will not be removed. I don't know exactly what triggers this, but here is a example glitched build: http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoBuildData?id=18202

Kookster (talk) 20:58, 28 June 2017 (UTC)

Total Calculated Health out by 1100hp on 70k hp build

The build is http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoBuildEditor?id=17070

Everything on the build editor is identical to my in game build, except the calculated total Health. In game I am at 69663, on the builder I am 70708.

I have triple checked everything and cannot identify any differences in game. I am unsure if there is a bug in the game or a calculation issue on the build editor. It is doing my head in. Ill double check tool tips on skills just in case.

Thank you for making this editor for the community.

Edit: The tool tip for the mages guild Balance skill is incorrect. In game mine says 6000 hp (5100 with passives) exchanged for 3000 magicka. Editor one is 14424 hp for 8490 magicka. — Unsigned comment by ANT3RA (talkcontribs) at 07:42 on 30 June 2017

I don't see any obvious issues with the build editor values (i.e., no health value counted more than once or incorrectly doubled). It is probably due to the exact health calculation itself and where some numbers go in the calculation. I'll see if I can duplicate and verify health calculation on PTS to fix any issue with the editor. If you find any difference between the build here and in-game let me know. Will also figure out how to fix the Equilibrium skill tooltip. -- Daveh (talk) 19:11, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
Found the issue with the health calculation. The Green Pact 5 piece bonus is being calculated as a Skill2 value in-game (verified on PTS patch 3.1.2). I've updated the builder and it now gives me 69660 health with your build which is much closer to the in-game value. If you reload the web page and re-save your build it should be updated. -- Daveh (talk) 19:24, 26 July 2017 (UTC)
Also fixed the Equilibrium and morphs tooltips. -- Daveh (talk) 20:10, 26 July 2017 (UTC)

Shield Expert (The Lady)

The Shield Expert passive in The Lady is not changing the armor value of the equipped shield.

I also don't understand why it's such a pain to get the Save Build ability to work. Instructions would be nice! Phlathead3 (talk) 20:10, 19 July 2017 (UTC)

What issues are you having with the save build function? Details on your browser, OS, wiki user name would help track this issue down. The Shield Expert CP seems to be working fine. The bonus is not currently shown in the tooltip but is applied manually to your spell and physical resistance (check the Raw Data tab). -- Daveh (talk) 18:50, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
Ok, it turns out disabling the shield apparently doesn't take off the 75% CP added armor from Shield Expert. Once I changed the shield for a weapon the armor difference was correct.
I use Chrome, Win 10, Phlathead3. It saves fine using Edge.

Bound Aegis

Bound Aegis isn't applying the 5% max magicka bonus JarlUlfric (talk) 21:36, 11 July 2017 (UTC)

It should be 8% for Bound Aegis and it is a toggled skill so look at the bottom of the skill window and make sure the skill is toggled on. This is done as just because the skill is on your bar doesn't mean that it is toggled to on (you have to cast it once in-game). -- Daveh (talk) 18:47, 18 July 2017 (UTC)

Horns of the reach updated values ofr traits and mundus stones?

I suppose this will become an addition sooner or later, I wish we had it ASAP in order to test and adapt to the new incoming patch. and of course, I apply for helping in that regard

Mundus Stones

The Apprentice: Increased Spell Damage to 238 from 167.
The Atronach: Increased Magicka Recovery to 238 from 167.
The Lady: Now grants Spell Resistance in addition to Physical Resistance. Value increased to 2752 from 1980.
The Lover: Now grants 2752 Physical and Spell Penetration instead of granting Spell Resistance.
The Lord: Increased Max Health to 2231 from 1452.
The Mage: Increased Max Magicka to 2028 from 1320.
The Serpent: Increased Stamina Recovery to 238 from 167.
The Steed: Increased Health Recovery to 238 from 167.
The Thief: Reduced Critical Strike Chance to 9% from 11%.
The Tower: Increased Max Stamina to 2028 from 1320.
The Warrior: Increased Weapon Damage to 238 from 167.
The Shadow and The Ritual remain unchanged.

Weapon Traits

Adjusted the values and bonuses of most Weapon Traits in the following ways, with the listed values being for Two-Handed, gold-quality items:
Decisive: Increased the chance to generate one additional Ultimate to 40% from 34%.

Defending: Reduced the Spell and Physical Resistance granted to 2752 from 5160.

Infused: Increased the bonus value granted to the applied enchantment to 30% from 20%, and increased the cooldown reduction to the applied enchantment to 50%
       from 40%.

Nirnhorned: Increased the bonus to the weapon’s damage to 15% from 11%.

Powered: Increased the bonus to healing done to 9% from 7%.

Precise: Increased the Critical Strike Chance granted to 9% from 7%.

Sharpened: Reduced the Spell and Physical Penetration granted to 2752 from 5160.

Charged, Intricate, Ornate, and Training remain unchanged.

The Prosperous Armor Trait has been re-designed to give it a combat function. It now grants 11 Health, Magicka, and Stamina Recovery as a gold-quality item,
       instead of gold gain.

Reduced the damage on the Damage Health (Oblivion) weapon enchantment by approximately 6%.
Weapon enchantments will no longer proc if the initial attack is dodged.

Item Sets

Universally adjusted the values of some 1, 2, 3, and 4-piece bonus stats for all Item Sets:
Max Health, Magicka, or Stamina has been increased by 13.3%

Widowmaker: This Item Set’s proc now drops a spore on the ground in front of you that explodes after 1 second instead of instantly dealing unavoidable damage
Thanks! I don't usually update things until the patch/update goes live so you'll have to wait a few weeks for things to be updated. The Mundus Stones have to be updated manually but everything else will be updated via the item mining process which generally takes a week to do after the patch/update. -- Daveh (talk) 19:55, 14 July 2017 (UTC)

Cannot Save

I have tried everything listed in the previous posts. Updated Java, deleted extentions, tried multiple browsers, deleted cache and cookies, pop-ups blocked, nothing is working, i love this site and would love to keep using it.

Can I get some more information on your setup (browser, OS, wiki username, http or https, etc...). -- Daveh (talk) 18:07, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
I'm on Windows 10 64 bit, newest version of chrome, even tried reinstalling it. tried it on my phone too, but doesn't work on either mobile version or desktop version. Tried it on IE too, but same result. Http and https both don't work, I deleted cookies, cache and extentions. Updated flash and java, pop ups blocked and unblocked but no luck with all my efforts. Username is mr.kiewiet.
Update 7/20:
Will save on my phone now, both mobile version and desktop but still not in chrome on my pc, though I did reinstall my extentions. — Unsigned comment by Mr.kiewiet (talkcontribs) at 10:53 on 19 July 2017
I am using the same system and browser and it works fine for me... latest chrome version, latest java/flash updates, even adblock plus as well as adblock, pop-up blocker and ghostery plugins for chrome. I have never had problems saving builds. Check your settings in Chrome -> advanced settings -> content settings -> check JavaScript and make sure it is enabled. Necropotence set 5pc bonus with only 4 pieces on backbar

When I have 5 pieces of necropotence on the first bar and only 4 pieces on the second bar and I check necropotence bonus enabled in "sets", it keeps the bonus enabled even when I switch to the second bar with only 4 pieces of the set. StoneCold14 (talk) 12:49, 17 July 2017 (UTC)

This should now be fixed if you reload your build and save it again. If not, or if you notice other sets with the same issue let me know. -- Daveh (talk) 18:44, 18 July 2017 (UTC)

Spinner spell penetration is not being calculated

With the Spinner set, the 5pc bonus is not included in the calculation. Could you please fix this? Can't check my CP setup with this bug. Thanks — Unsigned comment by Areloth (talkcontribs) at 17:57 on 17 July 2017

Seems to be working fine for me. In what way is not included in the calculation? If you have a specific build link it here so I can check it out. -- Daveh (talk) 18:17, 18 July 2017 (UTC)

Befoul CP - The Shadow

Adding CP into Befoul in the shadow tree will change healing received and healing total percentages on character. Unless I just don't get something unique about Befoul.

EDIT: It was happening on my old un-refreshed tab, so I'll try recreating it on the new updated version of the build editor. I was unable to save my build so I just never refreshed.

EDIT2: Yep all I can say is a few days ago Befoul was changing your own healing done. Doesn't work anymore with newest Build Editor. — Unsigned comment by VoidParticle (talkcontribs) at 09:51 on 20 July 2017

Seducer 5 piece set bonus giving wrong numbers

Armor of the Seducer 5 piece set bonus currently enables "Adds Buff = Worms Raiment". This buff reduces magickacost by 12 %. Armor of the Seducer should reduce magicka cost only by 8 %. StoneCold14 (talk) 14:29, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

Alteration mastery reduction does not apply to everything

Robes of Alteration mastery set currently does: Set.MagickaCost = -6%, Set.StaminaCost = -6%, Set.UltimateCost = -6%. It should also reduce Block cost, Sprint cost and Bash cost. I will test if it reduces roll dodge, break free cost or sneak cost. I guess it should. StoneCold14 (talk) 14:53, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

Added the 3 known cost reductions. If you can verify any of the others in-game let me know. -- Daveh (talk) 19:28, 26 July 2017 (UTC)

New HA resource return values

The current version of the build editor doesn't seem to have been updated with the new heavy attack resource return values introduced in Morrowind. My testing (on PTS 3.1.2, with 0 in the Tenacity star) has produced the following values:

  • Two Handed: 2426 Stamina
  • One Hand and Shield: 2014 Stamina (2509 with Rapid Mending II)
  • Dual Wield: 1799 Stamina
  • Bow: 2724 Stamina
  • Flame/Frost Staff: 2823 Magicka
  • Shock Staff: 3632 Magicka
  • Restoration Staff: 3219 Magicka (4184 with Cycle of Life II)
  • Werewolf: 1617 Stamina (3234 with Pursuit II)

I added the numbers in parentheses for comparison and to give some frame of reference as to how each category should look with the relevant passives enabled. One thing to note is that Cycle of Life and Pursuit give exactly the 30% and 100% (respectively) extra resources that they promise, but Rapid Mending seems to fall a little short of the 25% increase it advertises, giving ~24.6% instead. -- Psyknux (talk) 20:53, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the update! I'll try to get it fixed along with the Horns of the Reach update in a few weeks. -- Daveh (talk) 19:15, 26 July 2017 (UTC)

Cannot save build when inner light is equiped

Hi I'm new here. First I would like to praise you for doing an amazing job. I created a Templar build named Rimbokan. Everything works fine except for the inner light skill. When I equip it the builder won't save. Seams that it get stuck in an infinite loop — Unsigned comment by Nussi28 (talkcontribs) at 10:53 on 7 August 2017

I can't replicate this issue (it seems to save fine both with and without Inner Light). Can you link the build you are having problems with so I can test it as well as the browser/OS you are using? Thanks... -- Daveh (talk) 19:51, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
Link to build:[[1]]; I use Windows 7 Enterprise with IE 11. — Unsigned comment by Nussi28 (talkcontribs) at 10:16 on 8 August 2017
This seems to be a problem with IE being *very* slow compared to other browsers in some cases (something like x100 slower than Chrome, FF, and Edge). The only thing I can suggest is to try using another browser if you can. -- Daveh (talk) 20:27, 2 November 2017 (UTC)

Ilambris monster set damage not changing

Ilambris set effect (elemental storms) damage is not changing when I put points in or take points out of Thaumaturge CP star. Also it is not written in white so it seems it does not use any formula at the moment. StoneCold14 (talk) 14:12, 7 August 2017 (UTC)

There were a few issues with Ilambris that I just fixed although it does not seem that Thaumaturge affects set damage effects (just tested on PTS, at least the tooltips do not change). If you have further issues or can verify that damage does change with Thaumaturge let me know! -- Daveh (talk) 20:07, 7 August 2017 (UTC)

Dual wield and one and hand shield are not being added correctly to editor

Editor is not capturing weapon and shield slots as two slots correctly. For example, in the editor two pieces of magnus on body plus one sword and shield of magnus should register as 4 pieces but in the editor it is only registering as three pieces. It was working properly yesterday but has somehow been misleading on today. — Unsigned comment by 73.88.246.25 (talk) at 16:31 on 14 August 2017

Divines not calculating correctly for 2nd mundus with TBS

I put the Lady as my 2nd mundus stone with Twice Born Star and I noticed that have 7 divines traits is not amplifying this value correctly. The penetration added from the lover mundus stone is 2752 and should be much higher with all divines traits but is still showing as 2752.

I noticed that it also does not calculate the divines even if chosen as my 1st mundus. It might just be an issue with the penetration mundus and have nothing to do with Twice Born Star. — Unsigned comment by Skinnycheeks (talkcontribs) at 19:35 on 15 August 2017

This was due to penetration being a new Mundus effect so it didn't have the Divines factor in the calculation. If you reload the editor it should now be fixed. -- Daveh (talk) 01:05, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

Can't save builds

Hi

I've tried to troubleshoot at above posts regarding people experiencing same issue, but still I was unable to fix it. Tried Chrome and iexplore, java enabled etc.

Is it broken or any pointers?

Class Skills are not changing

When I change the class from DragonKnight to Sorcerer the class trees of DragonKnight are still shown instead of those for Sorcerer. — Unsigned comment by DamienMeano (talkcontribs) at 17:29 on 16 August 2017

I'm not seeing this issue on my end. Can you try forcing a page reload and see if that works. Usually this is due to a JavaScript error on the page so you can check your browser console (F12 in most browsers) for any possible error codes. If you still can't get it to work let me know what browser/OS you are using. -- Daveh (talk) 19:40, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
I am having the same problem, I am using Internet Explorer 11.0.96 and updated to most current Java and also uninstalled earlier versions of java as recommended. Warhorn and it's morphs

Warhorn does not increase the max Health. It should automatically apply minor thoughness, increasing health by 10%. — Unsigned comment by 91.67.128.225 (talk) at 12:49 on 23 August 2017

This seems to be working correctly. The Warhorn ultimate gives you 2 buffs, one called Warhorn that increases your Magicka/Stamina and a seperate buff called Minor Toughness that increases Health. If you enable the skill from the skill bar it gives you both buffs. If you wish to enable the skill manually then just make sure to enable both Warhorn and Minor Toughness. -- Daveh (talk) 22:48, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

Master's destruction staves' enchant does not work

Master's destruction staves give magicka, that works fine, but they do not reduce the cost of Destructive touch at all. Just to be sure, I have tried all types of staves. None works. StoneCold14 (talk) 13:08, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the note. I'm not exactly sure how to work in the skill cost and extra damage effect but I'll look into it and see if I can get it working. -- Daveh (talk) 22:50, 23 August 2017 (UTC)

2 different race passives active in build

I couldn't figure out what was affecting my reduce cost and resistance numbers in my build until I looked at raw data and noticed passives for both my High Elf (which it should be), and also Breton. Set Bonuses not being applied correctly for Sword & Shield

For this build - http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoBuildData?id=25752

Set bonuses should be applied due to presence for Sword & shield, but totals are not being considered.

This should have Hist Bark 5item bonus, and Death's Wind 2 item bonus.

Elf bane doesn't increase flame ability durations

all the flame damage over time abilities in this Build Editor aren't affected by this gear set. It is important to know that some abilities have 11.8 duration, like scalding rune, thanks by the Mages Guild passives. With Elf bane this ability will increase the duration to 14 seconds, not 13.8. There are some other cases like this one, for example Shooting star, magma shell and Eruption. — Unsigned comment by 186.64.168.227 (talk) at 21:45 on 20 September 2017

I haven't yet implemented this effect in the builder yet as it is a little complicated to determine exactly what is a "flame" ability. I've added it to the list of known bugs and will fix it once I figure out a good way to implement it. -- Daveh (talk)

Nirn on armor seems to get added twice.

Off hand weapons - Difficult to select one

I select my main hand weapon ok; it's not a problem. but when im trying to add another sword on a duel wield build, the off hand weapon box does not allow me to search anything. The "search" button on the off hand weapon box is not interactable. I change the trait in the drop-down box and the type of weapon drop down box to see if it helps to de-bug the button, but it doesn't do anything. Please look into what is wrong with this or maybe im not doing it in the correct steps. Thank you! DEATHBAT 91 (talk) 21:49, 4 October 2017 (UTC) Noel

Hi there Deathbat. I have a question regarding this. Was you trying to do it from a mobile by any chance? Because I couldnt do it on there. However, I didn't have any issues with it on computer. Timeoin (talk) 22:29, 4 October 2017 (UTC)
For admins - I think I have found the issue - The "search" button on the second window is slightly out of position. Its marginally further down than the "unequip item" button. Not a major drama, but on mobile, those few pixels is enough to place it behind the search results part, which means it cannot be selected. Timeoin (talk) 22:36, 4 October 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the debugging here. If you reload the page on a mobile device this should now be fixed. If you find other mobile issues just let me know! -- Daveh (talk) 19:44, 2 November 2017 (UTC)
Will do. No problem about the debugging, it was the least I could do. Also, I can confirm that the mobile issue is indeed fixed now. :) Timeoin (talk) 20:13, 2 November 2017 (UTC)

Free skills (no skill point cost) are deducting skill points

This is a fairly minor issue, but I was trying to enter my character as she existed before starting to make changes, and the number of skill points used didn't match. Some skill lines give the first skill for free. The ones I'm sure of are:

Racial - Wood Elf: Acrobat
Guild - Dark Brotherhood: Blade of Woe

I believe this one is also a free skill, but not certain:

Guild - Thieves Guild: Finders Keepers

Thank you for this excellent tool! :)

In defence of Tode, the Set page does actually say ALL traits. (Having said that, I am fairly certain it doesn't drop Nirnhoned. As Delibirdite points out, you can Transmute to Nirnhoned, if you have trait researched. (As per Update 16 Patch Notes). Timeoin (talk) 04:19, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
was just hoping they would add nirn due to transmute to agility, willpower etc -- — Unsigned comment by Tode (talkcontribs) at 10:35 on 7 November 2017
There doesn't appear to be any Nirnhoned Willpower/Agility/Endurance items so while in theory they should be able to transmuted I'm not sure if or how that works in practice. I tried to test it on PTS but I don't have any Willpower items to test with but will try to verify it somehow. -- Daveh (talk) 17:51, 8 November 2017 (UTC)
I can confirm Willpower weapons can be transmuted to Nirnhoned -- I did so last night. If you get a chance, it would be great to see this possibility reflected in the Editor. -- Casparian (talk) 8:02, 4 January 2018 (UTC)

Cyrodiil healing received debuff

Based on testing the buff stacks separately to all others and is not added together with other healing received modifiers:

Nirnhoned not available for Vicious Ophidian weapons

Nirnhoned is not listed for VO weapons (1h and 2h) assuming because it was incapable of being acquired. Since Transmutation is available can it be added to the trait table? -- — Unsigned comment by YoshinJa (talkcontribs) at 14:11 on 9 November 2017‎

I've just implemented transmuted items in the builder. Just select any VO weapon trait and then choose Nirnhoned from the drop-down list to the right of the item slot. This features is still in testing so let me know if it doesn't work for you. -- Daveh (talk) 16:17, 13 November 2017 (UTC)

Expert Mage passive and Spell Damage

There is something up with the additional Spell Damage calculation involving the Expert Mage passive in the Sorcerer Storm Calling skill line. It is not adding 2% for each Sorcerer ability slotted on top of Item.SpellDamage + Set.SpellDamage when you have 2 skill points invested in passive. I didn't try spell damage mundus to see what happens if that is also added.

I am on xbox, but found recent post in forum from PC user that sees similar behavior. (https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/379131/expert-mage-passive-bugged). Not sure if this is an issue with Build Editor formula or in game bug.

CritterRuss (talk) 19:22, 13 November 2017 (UTC)

It looks like it is either broken in-game or they changed how the calculation goes. I'll test it out later today on PTS and see if I can figure out the issue. -- Daveh (talk) 20:09, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
Bug Confirmed: Currently on PTS and assumably Live the Expert Mage passive is only increased the Weapon/Spell damage from weapons and not from armor. Will post on the ES forums to try and get a bug report filed and answered. -- Daveh (talk) 20:30, 13 November 2017 (UTC)

Weapon passives being added to WW form stats

Currently weapon passives are being added yo my stat pools on my WW bar for all WW builds I've made. Hawk's Eye

Increase in Bow damage not working.

Steps to test:

Create 2 builds: 64 points in Stamina Everything else at default

Equip the following set on one: Poisonous Serpent (because the 4 piece bonus is the same): boots, gloves, belt, legs, bow Armor pieces in divines (without mundus) Bow Infused (keep default enchant)

Purchase bow line only

Slot Focused Aim Cost: 2754 Tooltip Damage: 5494

Repeat test with Hawk's Eye:

Cost: 2592 Tooltip Damage: 5494

You can use the builds I've saved: ID 33520 for Poisonous, ID 33521 For Hawk's — Unsigned comment by DoonerSeraph (talkcontribs) at 15:07 on 18 November 2017

Hawk's Eye is a toggled skill ability since you may not always have it "on" and it can have multiple levels of effect. Make sure it is enabled at the bottom of your skills tab and has a non-zero count applied. I've modified and saved your #33521 build as an example. -- Daveh (talk) 20:43, 24 November 2017 (UTC)

Special cases for Sets

There are sets that increase weapon/spell damage of specific kinds of skills like Automatons, Netchs, Sun etc.

Is it possible to calculate Weapon/Spell damage and their effective versions for these cases?

Like for example:

5k Eff Weapon damage for base case, but 6k for Physical skills since you have Automaton

That kind of thing. — Unsigned comment by DoonerSeraph (talkcontribs) at 15:12 on 18 November 2017

This is sort of already done although it is non-obvious where to find it. For example, if you equip x5 of Strength of the Automaton and click the "..." button next to a skill that does Physical damage you should see some text that looks like:
      $1 Weapon Damage Used = 1566 Channel/Cast Time+physical
which is the modified weapon damage used by that skill tooltip number. The problem is that with the number of different modifiers like this that stack in various ways you end up with a large number of potential weapon/spell damage values. If I can figure out a good way to display only the ones you use in the raw data tab I'll add it there. -- Daveh (talk) 20:57, 20 November 2017 (UTC)

Magicka recovery affecting tooltip damage/heal ?

So I have made a build [2] and I thought hey why not use mag recovery mundus and next change the enchants on jewelry for more spell dmg (which increased by roughly 200 when buffed) and saved it [3].

Suddenly realised tooltips even tho I only lowered mag recovery and increased mag damage is showing LESS than setup before ??? Please, include automaton calculation on "weapon damage" as a toogle

Like you already did with briarheart, do with automaton. Yes, it's not completly accurate, since some stamina abilities are not physical (like poison injection), but I think it's worst to not enter the weapon calculation at all, just put a note.

It will allow some easy comparations like automaton + briarheart + lover vs spriggan + briarheart + warrior for example and fine tune cp based on that set. — Unsigned comment by Andreofgyn (talkcontribs) at 17:46 on 5 December 2017‎

So sets like Automaton do actually modify the skill tooltip for any physical damage number although it is not shown in the computed stats for Weapon Damage or Effective Weapon Power. You can see exactly what each damage number in a skill tooltip uses for Spell/Weapon Damage by clicking the "..." button next to a skill and looking for the line like:
    $1 Weapon Damage Used = 2335 physical
which means damage number #1 in the tooltip used a Weapon Damage of 2335 with a physical modifier. Not entirely obvious if you didn't know about but I'm welcome to suggestions on a better presentation for this sort of thing. -- Daveh (talk) 16:19, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

Jewelry and weapons not stacking - Swamp Raider Set

I have two Swamp raiders rings and two Swamp Raiders weapons equipped, so it should show 4 Swamp raider items equipped when I mouse over the rings or weapons but it is only showing two equipped. In the game it shows 4 items equipped when I mouse over.

This build doesn't show the stacking: http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoBuildEditor?id=36854

I know the answer for this question. One the former build, it was hovering over the second weapon set (the bow), instead of the first one, meaning that there was only 2 active items in swamp raider. if you select the first one, 4 are active. Hopefully this helps. (Also, sorry about the delay in answering, christmas is a crazy time of year). Timeoin (talk) 23:08, 2 January 2018 (UTC)
Yes, to be clear the set display works from your currently selected weapon. So if you had the Bow bar selected in the linked build you should only see 2 Swamp Raider items selected. If you switch to your Dual Wield bar you should now correctly see 4 items selected. -- Daveh (talk) 17:15, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

Necromancer Set Bonus/Wardens

Hello. I have noticed that the Necromancer set seems to not be adding the "pet" bonus to Warden pets. (such as bear and netch). An example can be seen here. I know its off because I've built it pretty much off what I tried running gear-wise in the game, and I have over 40,000 max magicka there. Anyways, thankyou for your time. Timeoin (talk) 23:04, 2 January 2018 (UTC)

Thanks! I had not realised it did that. That may (hopefully) make it easier to fix :) Timeoin (talk) 01:27, 5 January 2018 (UTC)
For Necropotence you have to manually turn the 5 piece bonus on in the "Set" tab. There were so many different ways of a getting a "pet" I originally thought it would be better to add a manual toggle for this set. -- Daveh (talk) 18:36, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

Infused weapon enchanting giving less than in game

Wrong spell crit

If you view this build it reports 56.8% spell crit, but when I edit it it raises to 83.3%. Looking at how it is calculated, I see that Item.Spellcrit is 30%, which I assume it's wrong. However, if I change the 1st staff to a different trait and then go back to precise, the spell crit resets to 56.8%. (I'm not sure if this last value is correct or not, Item.SpellCrit is 3.5%, shouldn't it be 7%?) — Unsigned comment by Piccia (talkcontribs) at 11:55 on 9 January 2018

I've fixed a bug with transmuted 2H items have trait values from 1H items. This fixes your spell crit in the linked build to 60.3% which looks correct. I'm unsure why the original build saved as 83.3% on your first bar. This value comes directly from the game API so either it was bugged out or you had some form of temporary Spell Crit buff on you that doesn't show up. If you still see any discrepancy between the editor and in-game values, or can figure out why the initial crit was so high let me know! -- Daveh (talk) 20:27, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

I'm unsure what you mean by a "daedric summon active buffs". The Clannfear ability has no modifying effects so adding a buff for it would have no effect on the builder's computed values. There are a lot of buffs in the game like this that I don't bother to duplicate in the build editor as they have no effect. Note that the slotting Clannfear and other pet buffs still activates the Necropotence set as well as the Expert Summoner passive. Note that for Expert Summoner and Bound Armaments skills you have to toggle the skill on at the bottom of the skill tab. Everything appears to be working at the moment but if you find anything else let me know! -- Daveh (talk) 16:19, 20 February 2018 (UTC)

Block Costs U17

Decreased the base cost of Block to 1730 from 2160.

Jewelry enchantments that reduce the cost of Block are now subtracted from this base cost first, then percentage reductions to the cost of Block are applied. This means stacking Jewelry enchantments and block cost reduction passives will now be less effective than before. Ancient Knowledge (Destruction Staff passive) now reduces the cost of Block by 18/36%, up from 15/30%. Developer Comments - Block Cost Changes:

Developer: The changes to Block’s costs are meant to reduce the extreme differences between builds that specialize in blocking and ones that do not. We’ve lowered the base cost of Block to ensure that all builds can have an easier time blocking attacks without being completely drained of Stamina. We’ve also changed Block cost jewelry enchantments to work similarly to Magicka or Stamina cost reduction jewelry enchantments. Builds utilizing those enchantments (and other reductions to Block cost) were too effective at keeping block up. Finally, we’ve buffed Ancient Knowledge so that it is comparable to the Fortress passive, which brings the gap between traditional Sword and Shield tanking and Frost Staff tanking closer. — Unsigned comment by Mpresiv (talkcontribs) at 23:53 on 22 January 2018

Roll Dodging Cost incorrect

The cost of Roll Dodge is incorrect for lv.50 cp160. It should cost ±3200 instead of 4040 Stamina. http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoBuildEditor — Unsigned comment by EarthenPillar (talkcontribs) at 16:53 on 6 February 2018

Fixed! -- Daveh (talk) 18:49, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
So checking this on Live the base cost still seems to be 4040 Stamina. If you can replicate the base cost has changed let me know. Note that any form of cost reduction will reduce this base cost which is likely what is happening in your case. -- Daveh (talk) 14:43, 21 February 2018 (UTC)

Damage reduction additive stacking

I've noticed that some damage reductions like the cyrodiil pvp reduction and major/minor protection are calculated additively in your editor. Are you sure you are using the correct formula? According to the following forum post every damage reduction stacks multiplicatively: [4] — Unsigned comment by 81.182.209.182 (talk) at 20:50 on 13 February 2018

Yes, currently in the editor DamageTaken modifiers are additive within each category (CP, Skill, Buff, Item, and Set). I know other stats use a combination of additive and multiplicative between categories and I'll have to double check how this works on DamageTaken, although I'm inclined to trust the forum post you mentioned. If it is indeed entirely multiplicative I'll have to figure a way of getting that working in the editor. -- Daveh (talk) 18:54, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
I did a little testing on PTS and it does seem that the entire DamageTaken calculation is done multiplicatively as expected. I've modified the editor to match this and while it seems to work for a few test cases let me know if you find a case where it doesn't match the live value. -- Daveh (talk) 15:09, 22 February 2018 (UTC)

No Light Attack Werewolf line

There's a line for all the light attack values and the Heavy Attack section shows your WW value, but it's not in the light attack section. This site is amazing BTW, thank you! — Unsigned comment by Ritter (talkcontribs) at 17:40 on 15 February 2018

This is mainly due to not knowing what skill/ability the game uses for the WW Light Attack. I'll double-check again and see if I can figure it out! -- Daveh (talk) 18:47, 20 February 2018 (UTC)

Unable to add any armor

I cannot add any armor to my build. The window only says "Error:". If I try to add from the equip monster set section below, it will give more detail. Example: "Updating 2 items... No Blood Spawn set with armor type 3 found! No Blood Spawn set with armor type 3 found! ". This appears to only happen in FireFox (I'm using FireFox Quantum 58.0.2 64bit), and I don't have any problem using MS Edge. Divayth (talk) 04:36, 18 February 2018 (UTC)

Can you add armor by clicking on on an item slot and searching for an item directly or does that break as well? If you open up your console (F12?) do you see any error messages listed there? -- Daveh (talk) 18:55, 20 February 2018 (UTC)

Weapon damage bonuses are not remaining active on both bars

When I swap bars with a weapon damage bonus active, such as the bonuses from seventh legion or senche's bite, it does not remain active if the other bar only has 4 active pieces, even though i have the 5 piece bonus on one bar. — Unsigned comment by Carno00 (talkcontribs) at 13:49 on 21 February 2018

This should now be fixed for a bunch of sets with similar effects. If you still find some sets not working just let us know! -- Daveh (talk) 14:17, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
