Quick WalkthroughEdit

1. Visit Edwards’s Grave

2. Read the Khajiit’s Note

3. Investigate Knifepoint Ridge

4. Retrieve the armor

Detailed WalkthroughEdit

You can begin this quest by going into the Dragonsreach Dungeon in Whiterun. On a table just within the jail area find a journal called Death of a Crimson Dirk. Following the directions given in the journal, travel to Falkreath in search of the grave of Edward. Your search can be slightly accelerated by looking for the dug up grave with a dead Khajiit nearby. Retrieve the Khajiit's Note from his corpse to determine your next destination, Knifepoint Ridge. The local bandits of the exterior camp will be hostile to you, and will protect your final target for this quest, the figure in Daedric Plate Armor mentioned in the note. Defeat him and any bandits that get in your way to retrieve the set.

Notes
  • Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the Radiant Quest system, and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
  • If an entry is marked as "Finishes Quest" it means the quest disappears from the Active Quest list, but you may still receive new entries for that quest.
  • On the PC, it is possible to use the console to advance through the quest by entering setstage ccBGSSSE050_Quest stage, where stage is the number of the stage you wish to complete. It is not possible to un-complete (i.e. go back) quest stages, but it is possible to clear all stages of the quest using resetquest ccBGSSSE050_Quest.
