Eldergleam Sanctuary is a small underground grove and worship site of the followers of Kynareth south-southwest of Windhelm. It contains only one zone, Eldergleam Sanctuary.
The sanctuary is renowned for its remarkable beauty and the giant tree Eldergleam, which is said to move its roots for one weapon only. The naturally-lit cave also abounds with plants and insects that can be harvested for alchemical ingredients. With the Fishing Creation installed, spadefish can be found swimming in the deeper water.

The sanctuary is north of Darkwater Crossing among the sulphurous pools and hot springs of Eastmarch.
Eldergleam SanctuaryEdit
Asta and Sond worship inside. Just before encountering Asta, you will find a chest and a corundum ore vein next to a tree atop the rocks near the northern wall. If you want to mine the corundum, do so before going up to Eldergleam, as Maurice Jondrelle will permanently occupy the vein once his part in the quest is complete. A copy of the Restoration skill book Mystery of Talara, v 2 is leaning on the rock next to Asta's knapsack.
A chest protected by Eldergleam's roots is in the back along the western wall. Hit the roots with Nettlebane to access the chest, which contains a random weapon or piece of armor and other loot.
The cave contains the following harvestable ingredients: four blue mountain flowers, two creep clusters, six dragon's tongue, twenty hanging moss, three Jazbay grapes, and two mora tapinella.
NotesEdit
- A second corundum ore vein is outside, west of the entrance. Go past the mammoth skeleton and look for it on the other side of the nearby geyser.
- A hunter's camp is outside, southwest of the entrance. At the camp, three "naked" hunters appear to be relaxing in the volcanic hot waters of the shallow pond. Among their possessions is a copy of the Smithing skill book Cherim's Heart. (map)
- A copy of the Enchanting skill book A Tragedy in Black and various soul gems are outside, east of the entrance on a crate atop a hill. (map)
